70 Cyclone Spoiler Holman & Moody
Hello, I am trying to gather information concerning the H&M prepared 1970 Cyclone Spoilers. I have the car that was campaigned in the Dallas Fort Worth area by Holiday Lincoln Mercury. Would like to find any info on this car or others like it. Thank you.

Re: 70 Cyclone Spoiler Holman & Moody
Hello, it has been a while since I have posted on this board, hope that some of its members might be able to add some info on these cars. I have been able to identify 6 cars so far, I am still looking for a picture of the Dallas District car and any further information on the program. Thanks.
First is a Ford Memo concerning the 1970 Mercury Drag Racing Program. http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...IMG_0004-1.jpg There is approxmiately 20 pages of Memos that I have been able to find concerning this program. The following are pictures of cars campaigned in the program that I have been able to identify http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...nGSCYCLONE.jpg http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...25-2113-45.jpg http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...onvilleCar.jpg http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...DanBotzCar.jpg |
Re: 70 Cyclone Spoiler Holman & Moody
I used to have one from around Minneapolis St. Paul area. No markings on it except under the cheap white top someone put to cover two names written over the doors. I sold in in CA in the 80's. It was so completely done they took the fan off the alternator. No hood pins, but short chain and hooks pop-riveted under the hood. Fastest thing on the street and stone reliable. Solid lifters but a CJ engine. And a C-6 that would pick the car up and throw it 4 feet on each shift. As fast as a modified KZ-900 from 20 mph up to 100, then the Merc blew away like the bike hit the brakes. Best car I will ever have. Send my your e-mail. Let's talk. I am trying to recapture the magic now with a GT that I am redoing.

Have you contacted Dr. John Craft? He is an authority on HM particularly their involvment with Nascar but likely can help with straight line cars.
