carb identification
anyone decode this carb?
4489 021A Thanks, John |
Re: carb identification
From my research, it is a 70 camaro 302 california.
What is the carb on a 70 Z28 california 4sp? 4555? |
Re: carb identification
ok Nasty z28 says the 4489 is for a LT1 califonia manual tranny
http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/z28lt1.html this makes sense, since this carb is on my cal sold 4sp 70 Z I was thinking it should be the 4555 but I guess my carb is right. ? |
Re: carb identification
John,
If you are running a 4489 I think you should be running a heat shield and a 7028024 canister???? http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/P2240051.jpg I dont have the sheet to load showing the shield but I can do it later If you need it. I'm not the ultimate authority on this but my car runs the 4554 and assuming yours was set to go to a calf dealer you would be running an NA9 also. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

I would love some confirmation about things like the sheild and the canister..........as that is beyond my limited knowledge. Carl, you are close to my cars (they are just on the other side of the cheddar curtain.) I should have you up for some beers and carb education. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif Thanks for the help. John https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: carb identification
Any time John,

Re: carb identification
John...Do you have Jacks old Citrus car? If so, and if I remember correctly, it should have the Cal emissions. That would be the carb with the tube on the front bowl of the carb that goes to the canister and the heat shield. It is a Ca built and sold in Ca new car if I rember rite.

Re: carb identification

Yes I have Jack's old citrus car. I drive it a fair amount too! And yes it is a Ca built and sold car. I have the original Window sticker and protecto. I really like the car, and love the color, as much for its significance, as the actual hue. Thanks again for the help! John |
