ZL-1 Motor
I'm just curious. I was at a Chevy dealership the other day and saw a new ZL-1 engine on the showroom floor. They said it was sold and the deal fell through. They are asking 32k. Is it worth buying?? For that price??

Re: ZL-1 Motor
I've seen them way cheaper than that.

Re: ZL-1 Motor
Theres a thread here about the engines.
GM sold them to dealers for a lot less. GM Dealers then put their price on the tag. 32K is a little much. |

Re: ZL-1 Motor
Didn't Albert Galdi get his for less than 25K...or am I thinking about something else?

Re: ZL-1 Motor
I remember watching #1 sell for around 55k so I thought maybe 32k was a real bargain? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gifhttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif 32k is what they're asking, they may take less.

Re: ZL-1 Motor
I just do not see how these motors can be worth $32k a year or two from now. About the only thing they have in common with a real Zl-1 is that they are made out of aluminum and they are the same size but about everything else is different. The ram-jet ZL-1 did not have much of a following a few years after their release and it does not appear that they have helped the value of the cars that were resold with these motors in them.

Don't forget that the new motors are oval port.
