Master cyl "CN"
 

Wanted: I need a master cyl for a 69 Chevelle/Elcamino stamped "CN"... Must be rebuildable of course.

Bill,
If the master cylinder you are looking for is for a disc brake car, the stamped code would be BA, not CN.
A lot of guys for 70 disc brake cars assume their master cylinder should be coded CN as well because their buildsheets call out CN in box 68. 70 masters are coded BB. CN is actually an assembly code for the master and booster together. The only CN code should be the cardboard tag attached to the vacuum hose at the check valve on the booster.

Chris.. Thanks for that education on the master code. I thought the code CN, on the build sheet didn't seem right, but...... anyway, I'm sure the BA master should be fairly easy to find. I'll try to change the original ad. If I can't, I'll make a new one. Thanks again Chris.

You're welcome Bill. Glad I can help. Too bad you aren't working on a 70, I must have about a dozen or so BB coded masters laying around but not a 69 BA in the bunch.
