69 428 CJ Mustang value?
Ran across a 69 Mach 1 Q code 428 CJ 4spd Mustang... driver missing motor and trans, has a 351 Cleveland auto in it.
Burgundy over white int. What is something like this worth restored? As a solid non numbers resto project? Thanks James |

Re: 69 428 CJ Mustang value?
Numbers matching is not as big a deal for 69 Mustangs since many of the blocks did not have vin stamps. I have had several and never had one with a stamp nor did I ever have anyone question the motor or lower the value if it has correctly dated components.
The most important thing is the Q in the VIN - just use a date code CJ motor. VIN is verification of real CJ car and provides the real value. |

Marti Reports (like PHS) will define the car too.

Re: 69 428 CJ Mustang value?
Don't underestimate the effect of Q-code (no shaker) vs. R-code (shaker). To many buyers, its like a Z/28 without spoilers. They just can't wrap their heads around a CJ w/o a shaker. Buy the Marti Report for less than $50 and see what it is. SCJ is of course any CJ ordered with a 3.91 or 4.30 rearend, and the automatic equipment upgrades that kicked in (oil cooler, stronger bottom end with different balancing, etc). Q code or not, '69 Mach 1's are iconic musclecars that have broad appeal. Fun to drive too (I'm a former owner of a '70 Mach 1 Q code).
