Helmut`s 1970 Firebird

Eureka, Montana or Bust! Helmut congrats on your newest ride! We can only hope the original springs do not break with Jim behind the wheel all the way to Montana.

Check out the originality of this fine Bird.

Thanks for the heads-up on the wheels... Perfect for this bird! I'm on it.

Re: Helmut`s 1970 Firebird

Honeycomb wheels were not available on the 70 Firebird. The correct wheels are 14x7 Rally II wheels with a JS code.

Don,
Do you know where Helmut can get the correct wheels??

------They are usually all over E-bay, but I still think the honeycombs would look cool........Bill S

Noooo . . . . https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif Why make such a nice original a rolling cliche? EVERYONE slaps on some mags. This car has poverty caps with trim rings. Doesn't it look nice enough as a good example of a car that's hard to find stock to begin with? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: Helmut`s 1970 Firebird

Relax.. I won't make a rolling cliche out of this bird. Those poverty caps will get a correct set of rubber and come out for short drives or shows, but not for daily driving.

Well, we're bunked for the night @ Rapid City, SD. Will be going to see Mt. Rushmore in the morning and will take some pics then. Hope to post some tomorrow evening!!

The Firebird has performed well so far.
Only maintenance is adding a little oil, and changing the fuel filter which collected some rust from gas tank, I think.
A/C does not work, so windows are open and my left arm is sun burned from hanging it out the window!

Helmut don`t let Jim fool you....he oviously lost the race to this Yellow Buick Skylark. Just ask Melissa, she won`t lie https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

It was 100 degrees when that buick went by me, I think I was seeing mirages everywhere, so I thought it was best not to run him down and teach him a lesson.
