Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
A good friend of mine gave me pictures of his brother's 1969 COPO Camaro he bought brand new in 1969 the other day! These pictures were of the car the way it came from the dealership!!! The car was a Garnet Red, black vinal top COPO. The car was purchased new at Ed Stinn Chevrolet. It was sold in the late 70's. Car was drag raced and sold to a doctor down south. Any one here have it or know where it is please call me I have doc's for you! Jeff 216-905-1983

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
Does the car have style trim?
If you have a VIN, that would be helpful. There's a few that I know that could be it. |
Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
Well I got some more info on the car the other day. From my new information the car was sold from Mike Keener in 1972 to an airline pilot in Alabama. I am working on the name right now. Thanks, Jeff

I bet itīs this one, owned by C.K Spurlock of Hendersonville, Tennessee in 1990. He had this one and the L.A COPO, and lots of other BB Chevrolets.

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
I know right where Stinn's dealership once stood. I wish I would have taken pictures of it before they tore down the building in the late 90s. Now there is a Big Lots Dept. Store & Aldis Grocery Store where it was.. They sold some performance/COPO cars back in the day. I talked with the old service manager from there who said Ed was really into those kinds of cars.. I have some really neat dealership memorabilia from there... Here is Ed himself in this commercial circa 1980s....

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
Here is the guys name that Mike sold the car to. Bill Anderson. It was sold in 1973 not 1972. Does anyone know how to get ahold of C.K. Spurlock? I could find out very quickly if it is the car or not. I have the pictures and tried to upload them without any sucess. If someone would help me I would post them. Thanks, Jeff

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
If C.K. Surlock's car has it's original drive train than this is not the car. I know for a fact that the motor and trans were long gone. The original rear end may still have been in the car but very doughtful. Thanks, Jeff

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
The reply from Kurt indicate that Ed Stinn sold several red body/black vinyltop COPO Camaros. Can you clarify that Kurt ?
A previous owner may have put a restamped engine and trans in the car and sold it on to a new owner without telling him. So C.K. mabye actually thought it was the original drivetrain and therefore gave the author the wrong information. It has happened before. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
I will email the pictures to mockingbird812 tonight when I get home from work or tomorrow at the latest. Thanks! I just got off the phone with C.K. and he said he sold that car in 1991-1992 to someone in Florida. He is going to see if he has any info on it and call me. He said the motor was a replacement CE motor. I am getting closer!!! He was not sure of the cars history. Jeff

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
Well it's been some time since I have been on here so I thought I would see if anyone knows anything more than the last post. I eneded up talking with C.K and he was not sure what the COPO was. That COPO was sold years ago and he didn't know who owns it now. I am back at a dead end! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Jeff

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
Hi Jefff...
Being you have the docs, have you exhausted all efforts trying to track the car down by Vin?. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthrea...-Keenersssd.jpg Also what ever became of the Motion engine you posted about here?. I wondered about it a few times since and what the block pad stampings were if any?. ~ Pete |
Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures

Re: Ed Stinn Chevrolet 1969 COPO Camaro Pictures
I remember the C.K. Spurlock car when the owner prior to C.K. had it at Super Chevy Sunday Indy and if I remember correctly, it was a double Copo.
