70 Yenk Deuce Cowl Tag

I have a 70 yenko deuce. On the cowl tag it has 0369 under the paint code is this a copo code. I was also wondering how to register it with this site.

Welcome Bob,

The number that you referenced on the trim tag is an internal production tracking number for the Fisher body plant, and does not relate to any options - copo or rpo. This number will increase linearly with the body sequence number until there is either a color or transmission type change, then it appears to start over.

Speaking of trim tags, I'll try to anticipate your next question which might be what does the 'A' indicate on the bottom row of the trim tag. The 'A' indicates that the interior items other than the seats will be black. Some feel that this letter only indicates the paint color of the dash, others believe it incidates the colors of all non-seat items in the interior. Truthfully, we don't know exactly, but suffice to say - an 'A' indicates black, (B = blue, S = sandalwood, G = green, M = gold, etc...)

Tell us more about your Deuce!

PS: Hmmm.... Bob's in Brockton, MA - Scher Chev was in Brockton, MA.... possibly a Scher Deuce?

While you guys are sniffing something.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif I was analyzing some numbers. I have 5 other Deuces in my database with prod seq numbers close to Bob's, so I'll venture a guess that number 0369 belongs to either a Cortez Silver Deuce built in 06A or a Gobi Beige Deuce built in 05D or 06A.

If Bob wants to reveal the last 6 digits of the body sequence number.... I could pratically tell him the key code numbers! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Thanks Everyone I've own the car for a while. From what I've found the car was from Scher chevy in Brockton, MA. It has been a brockton area car it's whole life. I have names of people who owned it just trying to get in touch. The car needs everthing it is silver W/ black. The body number on the tag is WRN337280 and was built in 06A Was not sure if someone here owns a sister car to it. I also own a 67 camaro pace car. That is a Brass hat car that was used on the track on race day. There is sister's cars of that one. one of them is also in Mass. So I was just curious to see if there any sister cars to mine Deuce. Thank You Bob

HA! There is logic to the numbers https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif Glad to hear that it's a CSilver in 06A - wish it was GBeige, but that's just me https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Sort of figured it was a Scher car as well.

Your body sequence number tells me that the car is indeed Cortez Silver, built in the first order of 125 Deuces ordered in late '69 by Yenko SportsCars Inc. Of the 10 Yenko Inventory Sheets, your car is on page 6 (which we unfortunately don't have https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif ), but we know that it's an a/t without p/s, was ordered from GM under order #QLL496, and was the 105 Deuce produced.

There were 25 CSilver Deuces produced, an 'avge' production color, and there are 11 remaining as of today (counting yours), which gives a survival rate of approx. 44% - on par for Yenko Deuces in total which have a current survival rate of around 56%. Of the 11 remaining, 8 are 4speeds and 3 are a/t's.

Of the 25 CSilver Deuces produced, there were 17 4speeds, and 8 a/t's. They are further broken down via cars with p/s: 15 4speeds, 2 4speeds w/ p/s & 4 a/t's, 4 a/t's w/ p/s.

There is a sister car to yours, CSilver, a/t, w/ p/s that is one body number apart located in MN that was sold new at Grossman Chev. in Minneapolis, MN.

Let me know if you've got an inventory sheet - I've got 6 to trade ya if ya do!

A guy on the Nova site has a batch of Scher doc's, he might have your original bill of sale.

Any pics?

Nah! Just a numbers guy who really likes Novas https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

BTW, when I said that CSilver is an 'avge' production color, I meant in terms of volume - not in personal taste! Of the 8 colors available, 2 are high producion, 3 are average production and 3 are low production:

HOrange = 10 produced
SYellow = 10 produced
CGreen = 10 produced

CSilver = 25 produced
GBeige = 25 produced
FGreen = 25 produced

FBlue = 35 produced
CRed = 35 produced

Total = 175 produced

Re: 70 Yenk Deuce Cowl Tag

Im assuming that blue and red became "high production" colors because an additional 10 of each were ordered in the second batch of cars, whereas silver, beige, and forest green were replaced by the 3 newly available colors?

Correct, CRed and FBlue were the only colors in both batches of cars.

For the record, my deuce is the #1 fastest pure stock deuce - technically speaking of course! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif CopoPetes COPO Nova has run a faster time than mine, but... but.... well all right, mine is #2 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif

Parts of the Jerseyville Deuce still live on! The guy who rolled it was not the original owner, but we found the original owner and he had an amazing stash of original parts in his attic. Those parts were purchased and installed on another deuce that is original paint, original drivetrain, full paperwork.... and is a two owner car that gets raced at SCR's!

BTW, Trivia question: This Jerseyville Deuce was specifically ordered with the hood scoop option when the original owner was checking off options from the brochure - however, Londoff didn't have a Silver deuce, what dealer did they transfer one in from, and did it have the scoop?
