Sam
check your email, How do you read the dates on these things away? |
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
Sam needs them for a nova. Camaro, or chevelle won't work.NOS would be preferred.
|
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
well how come the camaro's dont work for chevelle's ?? but these wont work for nova's?? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
some shocks have the round bolt hole ontop of them that bolts to the frame and some have stud/bolt ontop that boltes through the trunk floor. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
Sam, IF you find your shocks and need hardware like Jeff showed, I have a new set of that stuff. IT must have some with the Hi-Jackers I bought for the '62 way back when and I didn't need it, but I saved it. IF you need that stuff just let me know and it's yours. I did check my source for you on the shocks but they're no longer available.

Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
Novas have a two bolt flange on the top mt. Not a stud. They do not bolt up through the floor, they bolt into the frame chanel. Altogether different than a camaro. Now I think rear shocks from a 70 chevelle might work, not positive. I'd need to see a pic of the top mt.

Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
Sam... there were hi-jackers on the 69 RS/Z... along with the traction bars you want https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif... the hijackers are in the garage... http://www.crossroadspaper.com/69_z2...iles%20006.jpg
http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/2...60206031rj.jpg Are you interested??? |
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
James - my understanding from what others have said on this thread are that the Camaro Gabriel Hi Jackers will NOT fit a Nova. Are your photos off of that black RS Z you have/had? Man, I just love that patina. Those traction bars are the BOMB!
|
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
Yep the shocks were on the Black 69 RS/Z... sorry I thought they were going on a Camaro...
I got ahead of myself... usually do... |
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
make sure that metal on the shock isnt too thin from that tire rub it looks real close
|
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
and also if them are traction bars you are buying make sure the leaf spring area will allow these to work i had a nova and the leaf spring perch area was alot different(where the rear end and springs meet)just saying that from experience just depends on the maker of the bars some interchange some dont https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
|
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
Are the traction bars still available? or are the only ones out there originals?
|
Re: Gabriel Hi Jackers
some places do sell aftermarket ones mew .......

If putting traction bars on a mono leaf Nova, it's best to cut an angle into the bracket for the traction bar to fit into. It will never function properly, but, it looks cool! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h6...rp/71Nova1.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h6...rp/71Nova3.jpg |
