TCS Switch
Here's the TCS switch for the trans sidecover, a bit pricey though starting out at $500! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif
Anyone know if this one is still available from GM? #3961567. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Nova...sspagenameZWDVW |
Re: TCS Switch
Still showing available, 3961567 dealer cost $6.92 wholesale $9.12 and list at $12.14. The new switches aren't cosmetically exactly like the original assembly line part but I guess that would depend on how fussy you want to be.

Re: TCS Switch
Good to know. I found an old NOS one when I did my resto, I think I paid about $10 for it. I don't the old versions are worth the $500 yet, are they?
|
Re: TCS Switch
You might try using part number 3996286 to search for the earlier style. They sure aren't worth $500, but tough to find NOS.

Re: TCS Switch
Rick,
The 286 switch you show is harder to find as it is discontinued. The only problem is it is a later model year application. Yours is a spade type switch while the 567 is a pin type. 1970-71 use the pin type and some 71 and all 72 models use the spade. You would need to modify the harness to use the 286 switch on a 70-71 car. Chris |
Re: TCS Switch
Chris is correct, the '70 Deuces indeed use the pin type switch.
Anyone know the part number of the side cover that holds this switch? |

Re: TCS Switch
I don't have a spare TCS switch or a spare sidecover, I was just shocked by the opening bid price of the TCS auction! You could make a batch for that price!!

Re: TCS Switch
I sold three used #648 covers for $10 each at a swapmeet last fall.Check with crash too,as I'll bet he has a bunch..They first released this newly designed cover in 1970,and used it throughout the mid 1970's on nearly all Muncie & Saginaw equipped vehicles,(cept Vegas),up to 1976 I think..

I found an NOS TCS switch for the sidecover, new in the box - a little tarnished after all these years... Don't know what it's worth, $100 obo??
BTW: I have a 'Satisfaction Guarenteed' policy with the parts I sell. If you buy them, and are not completely happy, you get your money back - including return shipping! |
