Baldwin Motion clones
I see and respect how serious you guys and gals on here are about your passions, just wanted to know if you all are horribly offended by clones? I enjoy reading all the post and have learned an awful lot. Thanks for any input, good or bad.

Re: Baldwin Motion clones
I have two clones! A BM clone 1970 Nova and a 69 Camaro BM clone. I have gotten a lot of rave reviews. I would never try to pass them off as real, but really cool looking! I am just trying to enjoy the hobby. I had quite a few people in my area ask me if my Nova was a real BM. I told them that if it was, I would be in a house or a mansion.

Re: Baldwin Motion clones
I've got a 69 chevelle SS427 phase III clone. I would never try and pass mine off either. As a matter of fact, I used a 6 cyl car for my donor so that if I ever sold the car the next owner could not try to pass it off. I have went to great lengths to make mine as close to the real deal as possible. Of course I have a distinct advantage in that my uncle owned one and I grew up around it. Most of my parts came from him after he passed away. His car was not a candidate for restoration sadly. I wish I could have restored his car, rather than use a donor to bring it back to life. I guess you could say I have a bionic clone.

Re: Baldwin Motion clones
I'm not a supercar owner, but I think a nicely done clone is a great addition to any car show or cruise night. Many of us can't afford the high dollar "real deal" cars anyway.

Re: Baldwin Motion clones
I think Jed should make his '70 50 50 Nova into a Yenko Deuce clone! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif I love the look of a stinger hood and a MOTION paint scheme as long as it is meant to compliment and not deceive. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |
Re: Baldwin Motion clones
Who is going to supply the CBW 12 bolt, F41, and the white walls? Oh, and don't forget the Yenko Dixco hood tach! You just want to see another Gobi Deuce out there! LOL I'll race you at the Grove....

I did it because I never saw one. I wanted to have a rolling (ehem, I mean tire burning) representation of a very rare Nova. I think it might have just as much pull as a BB??? Thanks for the compliment. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Wanna go for a spin? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |
Re: Baldwin Motion clones
As soon as I get this photobucket/snapfish/attachment under 101 thing figured out, I will post pics of the 69. I'll try and dig out some of the old pics and see if I can scan them and get them on. The only pics I have or remember having are at family functions where the car is in the background of 70's Sunday's at Grandma's and reunions. There is a couple of pics that my son took playing with the camera in the garage on the Baldwin Motion picture gallery section. Good pics on the way. Just glad I won't get tomatoes thrown at me for posting them.

Once it was warm he was egging me on to drive like we did thirty years ago! I couldn't believe the red line shifts and tire spining!!! we were laughing our arses off and nothing broke!! I really dont beat on my car cause most everything underneath is original. scary !! Re: Baldwin Motion clones
That is exactly why I took what could be salvaged from my uncle's car and built me a car that I could drive the way my uncle used to drive me around. He gave me the fever when I was 7 or 8 and I have never gotten over it. I love to fry the hides on mine.

Re: Baldwin Motion clones
Jeff, I posted the photos you sent me in the members rides area. For resizing, I have found that "easythumbnails" works great. Nice ride Jeff. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif
