Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
I have located a 1967 Corvette Coupe with 35,000 original miles. It is unrestored with the following options. It has the 390 hp 427 engine and is a 4 speed car with telescopic wheel, am/fm radio, rally wheels, power steering and power brakes. The original paint shines and the original interior is in mint condition. The original spare has never been used. This car has been off the road since 1972 which was the last time it was inspected. It is a two owner car and has all of its original components except for tires and the lower radiator hose. The build sheet is also with the car. I am not a corvette enthusiast, however I would like to buy this car. Your assistance in establishing a fair market value would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
You didn't mention the color combination. If it is a desirable color exterior and interior, it will make a significant difference in the value of the car. It could mean a difference of 100% or more for some combinations.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
Did you verify original engine, and you don't say how its been stored all these years. Is it started and exercised each year, or did they just park it in '72 and wash it for you in '08? Is it drivable, or do you think the fuel system and engine need to be cleaned out and prepared. It all makes a difference. I agree on the color being key as well.
Sounds very cool, though! Post pics if you get it. |
Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
My apologies. The car is a green/green car with a white stinger. It has been garaged most, if not all of its life. It is a running, driving car with no known problems. I should have posted more information to begin with but my eagerness for immediate feedback probably contributed to these oversights. Additionally it does have it's born with engine, trans, rearend and as far as I'm concerned a must for it to be considered a true survivor. Thanks for your questions!

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
OK, I'll try...green/green is a price killer, but I'd say $70K plus/minus $5k depending on the percent untouched...ie fluffed underhood will hurt the value to a survivor nut.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
Id say the car is easy 100K plus or minus like described, green or not. Sounds like a super nice find..........

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
Green green 390 hp coupe I will guess 45-60K

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet...tem120218588543 Here is a true sale on ebay. Very similar car mile wise[so it says], but the green one sounds like it has many more original parts and better paint and this one has NO paperwork, sold for 75000.00 [was an offer accepted so more than likely not a fake shill bid]

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
Thanks for your opinions! The firm price for this car is $85,000.00. What do you think?
|
Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
If the car had air and power windows then it might bring 85000.00

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
That Maroon '67 was a better deal 2 years ago when it was offered for sale on ebay with the original bolt-ons. They were sold off and repops put on the car...

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
I believe I've seen this car. If it's the same car $75k would be max.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
I have a one owner '67 427/435 convertible, marina blue with blue leather interior I'd sell you for $185k. Window sticker and all.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
Big difference between green and red cars.
|
Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
If you like and want the car I would say it is worth it, provided no spray bombs have come within 50 feet of it. Your desciption sounds good, but detailing can really hurt values (many times over looked in desciptions). I would place value at around $100 with good preservation and Triple Crown, more if car eventually becomes a Bow Tie or Survivor car.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
Ok. Thank you, your points have merit.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
I agree with Charley. also big difference in coupes vs. convertibles, and solid lifter vs. non solid lifter.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
It could take quite a bit of money to prepare this car for Benchmark judging. You could spend thousands depending on what the car needs, and it will need things. I think 85K out of the gate sounds too high for this car unless you love it. If the engine needs to be pulled after sitting for over 35 years, you had better plan on spending a good sum to have it freshened while preserving the "look" of originalty.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
I know this isnt a true Corvette site but geez,Ive seen more excitement over a barn find Z with wrong motor, bad paint and no paperwork https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
Pictures might get us excited.

Re: Survivor 67 Corvette found! Value??
I am extremely excited. I'm shocked other closet (and non closet) Corvette guys are not going bonkers either. Could be the colors, motor, lack of photos but come on guys. Put yourself in this guys shoes, if you *found* a Corvette, even a 300 horse coupe/auto, I bet it would get your heart pumping.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say $85k is about market value. I also believe that a 400hp or 435hp car in the exact same situation would bring well into the $125k range. If you really want the car, which it seems like you do, spend the coin and hire an NCRS judge for assistance with the purchase. If nothing more, he will offer the opinion of a man who has spent lots of time on the judging field. Post photos... should be good reference point and learning material! |

BTW survivor cars have original paint IMHO........stepping off soap box now. |
