I am heading there on Thursday. Been following Daytona since 1963. Never been and I am looking forward to the 50th anniversary. Though I would go while they still run American cars. I believe NASCAR stands for North American Stock Car. not North ASIAN STOCK CAR.

Paul you will have the time of your life, try to get up against the fence on the second lap (while cars are up to speed and in one pack) you'll never forget it ! I haven't been since 88, the 30th anniversary.

Toyota is throwing " Millions " at the Nascar program. They do not want a repeat of last year. There was talk of a lifter problem in there current engine. I wonder if Mikie is cheating again?

Actually, it stands for National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing.

I have a good friend that works for Penske Racing, he told me that the first Toyota engine that Gibb put together they picked up 35 HP over the TRD built engines, thats a pretty big jump!

Not meaning to sound like a jerk or anything by asking this, but why would a guy who works at Penske know the horsepower increase of a Gibbs-built Toyota engine?? Or rather, how would he know?

Dodge takes it one-two. Poor Tony Stewart had it in the bag until the two Penske Dodges went right on past on the back stretch after the white flag.

Oh, and on the back straight on the cool-down lap I could have sworn that Tony Stewart was flipping-off Ryan Newman as he went past. Stewart's left hand was out the window and one finger was clearly prominent. Could have been a "Hey buddy, you're Number One" gesture but knowing Stewart I don't think so.
