Possible 70 Deuce bought from Riverdale Md

A friend of a friend had a Green 70 Nova about 8-10 years back. It was painted solid Green with an old snorkle hood. At the time it was just old car set up for the track. If I recall correctly he responded to a wanted add in Hemmings for a Deuce. It barely had alittle of the White stripe showing on the edge of the door jam area. It was suspposely sold for around $2500-$2800.

Just wondering if anyone here may have bought it,the owner at the time lived about 2 miles from Lustine Chevrolet.

I'm fairly certain you're talking about my car. Does this pic ring a bell? One of the previous owners was from Riverdale MD and lived close to Lustine. Please e mail me at [email protected] with any info you have, thanks!!! -JB

It does! And through the help of 70LS6454 I even have a current telephone # for the previous owner, although I have yet to get an answer... keeping my fingers crossed!

Oh, and I also found out the car used to run consistent 11.80's... before anyone even knew it was a Yenko! Thanks again Ray!

Very cool! There is nothing better than documenting the ownership trail of a car that you own, keep up the great work.

Now, if we could only get that 1/4 panel outta that garage in Prattsburg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Hey Marlin,
That 1/4 panel has moved north to a garage in Newark. I know the owner and he might be willing to part with it....

Re: Possible 70 Deuce bought from Riverdale Md

If that is dad's car, you could still see the stripe in the door jams. A sander reveiled the yenko deuce part of the stripe on that panel. It was pretty neat. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Yep, we're all talking about the same car... Can you PM me with the info for who has the original 1/4 panel now? I don't know what I'd do with it, but that never stopped me from buying anything before. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif

I have been real busy. I just bought another house and trying to sell mine. It will be a good move so I can save some more money to get my deuce done. It will be easier because the shop is just down the road instead of an hour away. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

That green 1/4 needs to be hanging on Brandon's wall, just like my 1/4 - I traded one of mine for a orange deuce 1/4 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Hey Marlin,
Shoot me a pic of that. When did you trade up?

I'll have to take a pic when I get a chance, it's hangin in the shop next to my beige one. I got it over the summer from a local guy who is restoring an orange one from MD.

I was lucky enough to get the original hood and tach along with my deuce. The hood was on the scrap pile. Original paint and stipes. Earl

Is that an orange one we knew of or is it another. How close is it to mine? I haven't seen one of your updated lists in years...

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 02-07-2008 05:19 PM

Re: Possible 70 Deuce bought from Riverdale Md

Send me your new addy, I'll get an updated list to ya - I know your dad doesn't exactly have a 'filing system' at the shop! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

This is an orange one that we found several years ago, walled into a barn with an LS6 Chevelle and an L79 sport coupe Nova. The barn was in PA, but the owner pulled the car from the transmission shop in MD. The car is still in PA undergoing a full resto. This orange one is not very close to yours bec/ this one is a 4 speed with p/s, which puts it on page 9 - whereas yours is on page 8. There was only one orange deuce with 4speed & p/s. So when this guy called I told him that according to my calculations, it had to be exactly one specific body number out of the couple hundred thousand novas in '70. It matched, he bought it.

I'll send it today.

I'm hoping to attend, have not been there in several years - just the GM show at Carlisle. Will your company be there?

[/ QUOTE ] I have never seen your work, but I will chime in on that one! No one reproduces the dark blue interior for the 71-72 Nova that is correct. I just put out a bundle for my interior and I haven't even sent the door panels in yet. PLEASE HELP! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

I was on the phone with Chris a few weeks talking about this, pleading with him to have his guys do door panels that don't look like they are on steroids! The best way to differentiate your product is to simply make it better and more accurate than the other guy's. Chris ensures that their chevy stuff will be far better than PUI's!

Hey Den, 'bout time you poke your head in!

I push the issue all of the time to do NOVA stuff. When it comes time for them to drop the hammer, we will need some factory original stuff for patterns. I will let everyone know. If any of you guys are at GM Carlisle, come check our stuff out....

[/ QUOTE ]I will be getting some extra yardage for my interior. It's the 756 cloth interior for my Nova. Would you like me to bring some samples to show you? Sorry about the Hijack! Sometimes this stuff gets outa hand.

Thats a cool orange deuce. That is one I haven't seen. I need to take a ride and go see Andy P's orange deuce in Syracuse

Might as well gander at all 3 of his Deuces!! Then head over to Rochester and snap a few pics of that forest green deuce. Then.... get back to work on yours https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

NYorange70deuce 02-08-2008 08:23 PM

Re: Possible 70 Deuce bought from Riverdale Md

If memory serves me correctly when we took the red deuce up to that Syracuse show, I met Andy and he had a blue, red and Orange car. Wasn't the green car in Rochester painted blue @ one point. It has been so long ago, I can't remember.
