Clickable link

I've seen some unusual items on eBay over the years, but that ranks right up there towards the top of the list.

Heck'uva bargain tho. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

When I was flying missile site support out of Cheyenne there was a decommissioned Titan base that someone had bought and they were living in it. They definitely weren't lacking for storage space, most of the decommissioned bases were abandoned and a huge mess. Those complexes are pretty big.

Looks like juveniles have been hanging around in there using it as a party center/clubhouse from all the graffiti...

------There was one of these fairly near me (5/6 miles) that is still used as a storage facility for rolling stock above ground. When I first went there the huge steel doors were still in eveidence with motor-homes parked on top of them. The units below ground were partially filled with water that I believe had leaked in. I heard later that they filled those gigantic holes to the brim.......Bill S

There's an abondonded one of these over here in Addison Il.
I think ours was a Nike Missle base in the 1950's.
It was a big draw for kids and cars with dates,in the mid 1970's..It was located between an industrial area and a now defuct drive-in theater(Sky Hi),and because of that soon got the moniker,Make out Base.
As kids we used to watch all these whacked musclecars w/sidepipes pull into it,and then start rocking back & forth. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
We rode around it on our huffy bikes & Raleigh choppers and would stare down the missle silos and see nothing but rats & snakes in them.Rows of deserted barracks too.
Cops would drive up to shew us away, but after a while grew tired of it,as every few feet there was a quonset hut or chained fence we could scatter into or under, and make them come in and get us.Those were some fun times..

Actually I was searching under Vintage Service Station,Gas Station etc and near the end of the search pages there it was!I was trying to find some parts and accessories to go with my small collection and parts for restoring a Vintage Bennett Gas Pump.I think it would be cool to just visit tour something like that looks really neat, just Imagine the History.I bet a REMODEL JOB would cost a small fortune for something like that! and to imagine one of those 50 ton doors landed on your foot!

Mr T, lives close to that spot, bet he has been in it, pretty rural there, dry farming and tumble weeds rolling along..

Well you could store a lot of parts cars on 57 Acres!Use the underground area as a restoration shop and name the Classic Muscle Car Dealership "MISSLE MOTORS" Also plenty of room to remodel one area to make a nice safe and secure underground home and storage area for all your personal Classic Car Collection! Then you would have no commute to work!Look at the time and gas you would save! Make one area above ground a big garden area to grow and raise what you need,Vegetables, beef,a couple of hogs a year to butcher etc! Start you a race team also and name the Race Car THE TITAN MISSILE and make the paint scheme on it reflect a missle, grow your own mushrooms underground!Make one silo area a museum and make a replica missile in one silo and control room to generate a little extra income and get people there then sell them a nice restored Muscle Car and some extra parts!Shoot there would also be plenty of room to make your own Dragstrip on the property! Possibilites are ENDLESS!Depending on the restrictions of the property! I did notice they said they were some restrictions!

Ah, the old deed restrictions. I think the restrictions on this property include no single warheads over 10 megatons, no MIRVs, (multiple independant rentry vehicles) and no unregistered car parking. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
