1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
I am happy to announce the acquisition of 2 heavily documented Baldwin Motion cars. They will be restored by Ricky Smith of RSR restoration's in Ararat, Va. The 1967 has been started on and the 68 will follow. I had the pleasure of working with Charlie Biele to purchase them. Charlie has been a true Baldwin Motion enthusiast since I have known him and he always seem to come up with these rare machines. Thanks Charlie!

That's it! I have photo's on file. Some are already posted here. I don't know how to pull them and post?

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
It's basically a copy and paste for posting pics already on the site. I bumped the old thread on the car from when Charlie bought it in 04. Good Luck and congrats on the buy. Get lots of resto pictures posted !!

WOW!!!
What a piece of history - thanks for posing. Please post more as work goes on! Any idea where the car was for so many years to wind up in that shape? |
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
i have the NICB report of complete owner history at work. Spent most of its life in Conn.

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
I will keep the updates posted. We are in the teardown mode. We have a lot of parts, date coded block, heads, carburetor, fuel pump, radiator, transmission, original rear end. Joel and Marty are eager to help with any info as Joel drove and raced this car, so did Marty. My daughter is doing great, Bruce, a miracle!

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Congrats Kevin...your daughter is doing great, 2 BM cars in the garage and the Packers are woopin' butt!...can life be any better?...what are the specs on the '68?...
|
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
When do you think the ss427 badges were put on? You can see in the old photos that it said ss396 on the back when they were racing it.
|
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
The car is red, which is cool. The paperwork has the specs on the Baldwin Chevrolet Bill of sale. It shows the conversion and details. I just hope those Packers continue to roll. A lot of good things happening here in NC, family 1st, Karoline has a few small obstacles , but, hasn't let anything slow her down yet.

Awesome cars Kevin...and you know what comes next;
My personal invite to bring 'em out to Vettefest! I am sure there are a whole lot of people who would LOVE to see these babies in person, especially after you do your magic! BA |
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
What a great find. A real piece of history. I have the 1968 Speed and Supercar issue with this car. Super cool article. I would rather have the car than the article though.. hehhe
Anyone have pics of the '68 Camaro? I have a '68 Motion catalog that has a pic in the back of a '68 Camaro pulling the front wheels off the ground on what looks to be a public highway! sweet! Just wondering if this was the same Camaro that was found. |

NOT a street car! |

Thanks for the link. Been awhile since I have checked this site. I have that Cars mag. issue somewhere. Now I gotta go find it. I guess Marty sure settled the fakeness accusations eh? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif Wonder where that Camaro is now? |
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
The letters are on the way for both cars from Joel. He had some cool things to say about the 67 Chevelle and how special that car was, "NEAT"! Haven talked to Marty and Joel about the cars, Joel remembered the car when he slammed the wall with it. They both seem to remember the car vividly. Marty's book will have something to say about both of them.

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Disassembly and parts inventory are underway. We have a lot of parts. We are mostly gathering the rare hard to find Motion performance parts right now. The other Chevelle stuff is easy. I'll get some photos when i get a good start. As you can see Ricky isn't wasting any time. He jumped on this one right away. The 68 BM Camaro will hopefully be the same way.

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Did the 67 motion chevelle ever get finished?
|
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
I was at Ricky Smith's shop a few months back and Kevin's 67, 68 and my 69 are all progressing. Comletion date is probably sometime in 2011. Perfection takes time.
