Does anyone have some pics of JL8 rears? I need a pic of the axle tube tapers and non tapers for early service OTC, later OTC and original as delivered RPO.

My car is still in the shop, otherwise I'd get some pictures for you. Have you checked Wayne Guinn's site for pictures? I know he shows the difference in his book.

Well, I sent to Xplant, I hope it doesnt come back as a failure notice again. Maybe Im having email problems. If they make it and you need other or better pics let me know. These are ones I still had on my camera for a while.

Here's a picture from Wayne's site of the HD disc brake rear. You can see there is no taper to the rear axle tube. The HD rear used bigger axles and bigger bearings which were more reliable when racing.
