stripe delete car, neat.

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

Very nice looking car and a lot of paperwork but I do have a question about the paperwork. 1)Yenko Order form states NO STRIPING but the car has Yenko Stripes 2) Cowl tag shows a Black top where COPO Connection letter states NO vinyl top.

Would it be worth more if the SYC stripes were kept off the car since thats how it was orginally ordered, per the paperwork

Seat belt retractor delete also.

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

Personally, I think it looks great with the stripes. The white stripes really pop on the rally green paint. I bet it was a stealth street racer when new with no stripes and a healthy L-72 under the hood to fool the unsuspecting opponents.

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

This is an odd situation. I consigned the car with American Street Machines about a month ago. They suggested putting it on ebay, but I told them not to do that. So, this is how I find out they did it anyway https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif
Well, maybe they know best & I'll wait and see how it plays out.
It was a tough decision as to stripe it or not. They can always be peeled off. Also, I'm pretty sure it's the highest optioned Rallye Green Yenko as it has the Z21/Z23, PS, vinyl top and SW guages.
Any reasonable offer will buy this Camaro, so feel free to contact me directly if you wish.

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

Ed C's letter is wrong. When he certified it in '92 he didn't visually inspect it to know that the cowl showed it to have a vinyl top.
The SW tach was originally mounted on the right side above the other guages, I suspect, at the request of the orig owner. That's were the mounting holes were.

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

I hope it works for you!! I tell people who use e-bay( Hero or Zero) on Big dollar cars.
People always remember the last bid. When you talk to people they will remember that price. If your looking for 300K and it ends at $175K,they remember $175K.
I personally dont take cars after its been on e-bay.
Jude, tell them to jack it up close to your reserve if you have a real buyer. This will find out if your bidder is real or just wants to be the lowest bidder at a stupid price. Just my 5 cents!!!

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

First, I'll try and make anything right on the car that's incorrect...within reason.
Rich, I tend to agree with you. I've never bought or sold anything through ebay. What I've learned is that it an excellent marketing/ sales device. In this case I'm just going along to see what happens. You made me an offer on this car last yr and I shouda accepted it. It was a good offer & I've since regretted my decision....Next time I'll listen to you https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

Jude! Tell them to bid the car up, since you have a couple of bidders.(Have a friend Bid it up)
See if the bidders fall out. I bet they fall out around 175-200K. If not,you will have a REAL buyer

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

I don't agree with shill bidding & won't ask anyone to do it on my car. If it doesn't hit the reserve, which I think is reasonable, then maybe someone will make an offer after the auction ends. I have 4 good cars for sale....at least one's gotta go https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

I am definitely interested however, the copo's engine is out being redone right now. The car came with 842's in the trunk and anything other then 10's is not acceptable. So I sent the engine out to make some real seat pinning power with the aluminum heads. My friend is a very well known super stock racer and I know I will not be disappointed. I think your car is one of the best Yenko's that I have ever seen but at this time my car is not in trade condition. If your car does not sell, keep me in mind. We can definitely work something out. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

If the high bidder on the DY Yenko / Mecum October visits this site, PM or call me.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's only 7 RG Yenko's known...Reggie, Cliff (2), Steve's, Keith's, Wes & this one. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

How many unrestored cars are left
How many real numbers matching cars

Thanks Rich.
I've asked the guys to drop my reserve 30K. I think it is a very good price for a Yenko restored to this level, with Yenko doc's. It needs a good home & I need to get on to the next project. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

The auction's at 200 with 23 hours left. I've instructed the AMS guys to drop the reserve another 10K.
Nice resto, great color, excellent documentation, style trim option, Z23 interior option...it's a really good value now IMO https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

Yes Tom !! Thats the way they should do it !!
Its the same way a reserve Auction works. I know you dont agree.
I bet the next Yenko Camaro with ALL the Pedigree I bring out will be getting hit by his #, that it ended at. $200K
This is the # people will remember. Everybody knows he wants more then that, now he needs to bump him up to what he will really take now.
But the rest of the world saw $200K. Im just trying to help a member here who needs to sell his car.
I dont see a problem with a guy wanting 300K and a bidder is sitting at 180 to bring it up and see where the guy falls out.Somebody running up a car when they have the money and making the guy pay more( I dont agree with that)

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

Rich..two things jump out at me as I read your post.

1. shill bidding
2. manipulating the market

Why not list it as most members here do, such as Colin and Charley, and simply list a buy it now price? That gives any potential bidders an idea of what it will take to buy the car. If no one takes atvantage of that option, then I would imagine any offers and/or the high bid may be considered.

Sorry Tom ! NOBODY does it better then them... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Speaking for myself,I have NO skeletons in my closet on ANY dealings that I have done over the years.

Do you think if the prices dropped tomorrow that it would hurt me.. I sold what I had.
I am a broker who will sell them when they are high and I will be selling them when they are low..

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

I agree the car should have been BUY NOW but Jude said he was not aware of them posting the car.
I was trying to help him, that I feel would have tarnished is car.If it didnt sell and truthfully every car afterwards. Just my 5 cents !!

Where is a 69 Original drivetrain 4 speed for that price and you got a finders fee from me ??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif

NovaMob03 12-11-2007 10:26 PM

Re: '69 Rally Green Yenko on Ebay

Tom,
The DY is priced that way for a reason. Jerry wants a 4 speed Yenko and has been interested in mine for about 8 months. With the (low) bids I recieved he contacted me and we now have a verbal agreement in place. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
The reason I didn't want it on ebay is because it does seem to set a benchmark similar to B-J, Mecum etc. There's apparently shill bidding in all these arenas. One reason that I don't attend them or go the ebay route. Sure, it was dissapointing that it didn't go higher, but what's worse is the prevailing pessimistic attitude concerning car values as investments. Just my $.02
