Power Beam decode help...
Need some help decoding these Power Beams.
Have been in the garage for a little but they do work fine. Are they originals or reproductions? Dates? How much are they worth? Many thanks guys! -Dan http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1157.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1158.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1152.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1153.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1154.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1156.jpg ---------------------------------- number 2 below... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1165.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1166.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1160.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1161.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1163.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/IMG_1164.jpg |
Re: Power Beam decode help...
Dan,
As far as I know they do not reproduce the power beam headlight. If you have no need for them I have a 70 Z that could use them. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif Rick H. |
Re: Power Beam decode help...
Take the retaining ring & cup off.
Look for an ink stamped date code series of numbers & letters around the top backside. Relay them here.. |
Re: Power Beam decode help...
Hi Rick:
What years were they fitted. I think I tossed a box of them in the last year, keeping only T3's.Didnot think anyone would want them. DAAAAA These shown are for 4 light systems are they not?? |
Re: Power Beam decode help...
Two prong? Are they for a 4 headlight system?
|
Re: Power Beam decode help...
That's what I'm thinking. Two prong would be the inner (brights) lamps for a 4 lamp system.

Re: Power Beam decode help...
I'd like to see them on a rick's Z!

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif Do they make headlite spacers? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Power Beam decode help...
DUH! Didn't see the 2 prong until after I posted.
They would fit my Z with a little duct tape. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif Rick H. |

Ok we all agree now they are for a 4 light system https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif but what years were they supplied and are they original factory installed. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

My old '69Z had T3's which I thought was correct and my old '70 Camaro had Power Beams... which I know was correct/original |
Re: Power Beam decode help...
My January '69 Nova and my late May build '70 Chevelle have T3s, but I wouldn't argue with you on the 'introduction date'. Could be a regional thing or a model-to-model issue too. If you can find the ink stamping on them that should give you an answer. I do think Power Beams were a factory installation, just don't have a clue as to dates.

Re: Power Beam decode help...
My May 5th 70 chevelle was T3 also and she is a canadian car.I just don't remember seeing these in the early 70's but they must have been there since that is when I gathered the box I had. I always thought they were a GM over the counter replacement for the T3 but that is probally wrong. If not man did I leave a pile of NOS ones laying on shelves that I could have had for pennies a light over the years.
Someone out there will know the dates |
Re: Power Beam decode help...
