[/ QUOTE ] Still a very rare nice find Chuck no matter how we look at it. There is one up here also way up in Canada in the crate.Guy bought it many years back for a 69 Camaro and never used it. Swares he will have another Camaro someday once he finishes putting 5 kids through university and is holding it for that car. I have to comment on the "DICK" on the chevelle site that says it is fishy. What is wrong with people. All we hear is show me the pictures well there they are and some still people don't believe that someone could keep that through the muscle car boom.Well there is a lot of us weird people out there me included that our parts were worth more to us than money over the past 30 years and if my health was good I would be still sitting on every bolt.It has only been 4 years since I sold anything so my stash of 55 BBC was small by some standards but a lifetime of gathering to me. Mine is fishy also I guess. Oh Chuck look another one of those bare metal GM balancers no orange paint on the puppy either. I have a copy of 1977 National Drgster. It shows Don Yenko's ad when he started selling this blocks.I have a October 1978 Hi Performance Cars mag about Pat Musi's BB Pro Stock Monza.Pats out of Carteret NJ.Real nice article on Yenkos ZL1 block he used! You can see Pat had the Yenko badge on the front fender of the Monza.Heads used were AFR GM Aluminum heads.

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
The tractor trailer with the eight+- missing/stolen 1969 ZL1 Camaros on it, parked in a warehouse since 1969. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif You'll find it sitting right next to Walt Disney in his frozen, liquid nitrogen, sarcophagus cylinder.

just out of curiosity..what would be considered the 'holy grail'?? [/ QUOTE ] Everyone's "holy grail" is different...and subject to 1000 opinions on why it is or isn't. To some it's cars, to others its NOS parts, still to others its something else entirely. I found mine last year. Yenko Treasures Unearthed! |

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
How about a ZL1 motor that is out of car# 40, that is just like a NOS motor
|
Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
How about a ZL1 motor for sale in the parts section that either 1]Exists or 2] Is really for sale 3] Price doesnt fluctuate from minute to minute depending on PM or email response 4]Actually sells . Now that would perfectly describe the "holy grail", because it too hasnt been found yet. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
I guess I'd have to agree with Eric. The early March 65 3310 is one of the rarest and most valuable of all Holleys. The photos don't do it justice, but look at it and remember who I trusted with it's resto. Want it done right? Quick? Eric.

Dave [/ QUOTE ] Thnaks Dave. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif BTW, the carb is on the way back to you as of this morning, you should have it by the end of the week at the latest. Eric p.s. you should've seen the look on the guys face at the post office when I told him how much insurance to put on it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |
Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
...I hope you didn't send it through the post office...in this past summer they wrecked 2 carbs I bought - bent the ever-living crap out of them...it looked like they hit the box with a 5 pound hammer before leaving it at my house...then to get an insurance claim out of them - I'm still waiting...

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
Frederick;
I use USPS exclusively, and they have yet to cause me any serious grief, which is in stark contrast to FedEx, UPS, and DHL. All 3 of the latter carriers have damaged numerous items in transit on me, and USPS has only damaged one item, and that was minor. OTOH, I did get scammed for a substantial amount on a USPS money order by a lowlife scumbag in AZ...I turned him in for mail fraud, did all the USPS paperwork (and there was a bunch of paperwork to do!), jumped through all their hoops, and today, almost 2 years later, nada. On that note, the "guarantee" that's printed on the back of a USPS MO "guaranteeing" reimbursement in the event the MO is lost or stolen is worth about as much as the ink it took to print it. Sad thing is, there is no way I've found yet to 100% "idiot-proof" or "scumbag-proof" any sort of transaction or transport situation like this. You just have to take all the precautions you can, cross your fingers and take your chances. Eric |
Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
In my job position, I get involved in all sorts of shipping damage claims. From small parts orders to several hundred HP industrial/fire pump packages.
Every carrier, and I mean every carrier damages shipments. Most common reason for denying a claim? "It wasn't packaged properly? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif |
Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
Eric packages his stuff REALLY well...and I can find that scumbag if you want me to... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
Hey Bruce, you hold him and let Eric "package him REALLY well!!"

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
Tempting as that may be, I'm not quite ready to put myself in the hoosegow over this scumbag. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
Kinda makes one long for the days when matters such as this were settled the old-fashioned way...out behind the woodshed for a good old-fashioned "attitude adjustment." |
Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
Hi; I'm curious where that carb came from, I sold one just like it dated the same to a friend in NJ @ 2 years ago. It needed to be done but was as original as the day it was made. just wondering ???

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
Eric...I knew that already! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif Props to you for just letting it go...karma is a bitch though...so he'll get his...someday! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Nothing like this EVER! The HOLY GRAIL in NOS
Doubt it's the same carb, but a lot of the Z16 3310s were dated 531. They were batch built, I'm sure.
