So you folks think this is a joke, well ok then the jokes on you, as for pics the person Im dealing with is a strange fella thats why he has never sold anything he runs everyone off Im trying to stay on his good side it took me a year to get a invite to his garage I have heard several stories about his finds he is not a parts seller or a junkyard he just collects stuff and forgets about it he dosent have any show cars a big house etc I really dont even know how come him to have this stuff except that as a young colored man he liked to race and couldnt afford new stuff so he got all the old stuff ,he works for the county and thats how he got the hemi car "I have not seen it and havent asked it where abouts yet" they told him if he would pull the car out he could have it no one knew it was a hemi car it was just trash that showed up while the were working he has a old wrecker and gets to haul all the junk of for the county as for the truck with the motor in it he has had it for several years driving it to work he has and old 55 chevy that he is restoring" and I use that word lightly " he wanted to put the truck motor in it to make a hot rod and thats how this all came obout

Joey
There is more to punctuation than commas and quotation marks. Use a period. Its like taking a breath. |

"I really dont even know how come him to have this stuff except that as a young colored man he liked to race and couldnt afford new stuff so he got all the old stuff"
Did he just play the "race card"? |
Re: zl1 engine found
If this guy has "more rare big block stuff than any one I have ever heard about", why did he not realize his old truck had a ZL1 motor in it until he was in the process of pulling it out? He can't tell a ZL1 from an old truck motor if it has a coat of krylon on it? Maybe that floating Hemi is an aluminum block too... better check that out. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif
Remember when I was the only BS'er named Joey on this site? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |

".........the person Im dealing with is a strange fella "
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif Gee. Really? |
Re: zl1 engine found
Stranger things have happened. I've found 2 ZL1 bare blocks and 2 near complete ZL1 motors here in Ga. 1 was in a purple Chevelle with a set of Grumpy's heads that were off his '70 Camaro. The heads were reunited with the Camaro when sixtiesmuscle bought it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
Odder still was when X11 71 71 found the original engine to my BBrown COPO somewhere in the Northeast. The car itself had only been in W Va, Fla and NM. |
Re: zl1 engine found
Remember all that stuff welded up in containers in Wisconsin including a Yenko Camaro ?

Re: zl1 engine found
Man, ya just never know! It never hurts to follow up on any lead no matter how unlikely it sounds https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
|
Re: zl1 engine found
I have a 69 Chevelle COPO (MP) motor that everyone said was impossible, cause they did not make COPO chevelle's at the plant where this engine was vinn'd from (Kansas). Now they have found some COPO's from that plant. The engine and stamp have been verified as authentic.
Again, you never know........ |

[/ QUOTE ] Although it is hard to believe that he did not know since the truck was his...unless he bought it that way.... I bought the original ZL-1 motor for my car(years prior to buying the car) at Carlisle swap meet on a Sunday afternoon after 3/4 of the vendors had gone home. I was actually p. o.'ed that I drove all the way there not realizing that everyone left Carlisle early.Anyway, the motor was completely painted orange so noone all weekend even paid it any attention. If it wasn't for my then 15 year old little brother mentioning that we just passed by a ZL-1 motor,I wouldn't have even noticed it. Once the owner fired it up on the little engine stand with the zoomy headers, every vendor left at the meet wanted to buy it...Thank God I already had bought it(assuming it ran). ....Maybe even a stranger thing is that I did not realize it was an "original with vin" ZL-1 motor for atleast 2 years after I owned it...Many professional dealers and persons way more expert than myself did not notice all weekend that it was a ZL-1 motor ...only because it was painted orange. i believe ZL-1 # 35 or 36 was "found" just a few years ago with Z-28 emblems...the title apparently had a digit wrong on the vin, so the car was 'lost' in DMV for years so to say...and bought for a song.. What would you guys be saying if somone posted on here about some guy with truck containers welded shut full of big blocks, Copos and Yenkos?? So never say never...my point is that atleast the guy deserves a chance to prove his story before he gets totally trashed...time will tell... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |

[/ QUOTE ] I dont think its the fact noone wants to believe the story.I dont know Joey, but i think when you list 10 bolts thinking they are 12 bolts,m20s as m21s,and then tell of a junk yard full of camaros and the guy ends up not wanting to sell anything thats worth anything ,the casual observer would tend to feel that a ZL1 story is just another misunderstanding or hoax. |
Re: zl1 engine found
I don't know about the 10 bolt/12 bolt, m21/m22 issues Chuck, but I went to the Tn junkyard with Joey. The owner, probably in his 30's didn't have many teeth, but he did have a bunch of Camaro's and would not sell any of them.
Wish I'd taken a camera so I could show some of the odd cars n parts I saw that day...I seem to recall a Rambler with Yenko stripes on it https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif A tiny car with a 512 block & alum heads. It was a good day & I'd go again https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Re: zl1 engine found
King the cars and parts can be bought you just have to flash the cash he just says its not for sale so that you can offer him 5 and he will say its worth 10 so you get it for 7, sorry if I have made a few mistakes listing parts I was in the learning process , I know that your perfect and know everything or a least you think you do!

Re: zl1 engine found
Why do so many threads take a nosedive? Joey shared some information which is always a good thing but several members have made inappropriate comments(like the deleted one about wife-swapping). If this trend continues, I can see this site being a place people avoid instead of seeking out.

Im sure Joey will be posting pics of the ZL1 find soon, so lets not jump to any conclusions until then.
