The Hurst wheels were pretty much toast by 1970. I wanted a set for my 69 Catalina and they weren't available through normal speed shop channels. If I knew then what I know now, I would have done some different searching.

I remember reading years ago that because of the dismal sales of his wheels George Hurst had donated hundreds of them to the government, and they were used as filler material in runways poured by the Air Force at a base in the midwest.
Anyone else remember anything like this?
Or just urban myth?

I have that shot of her in the mountain lake with nothing but a t-shirt and a smile. Since this is a family friendly sight, I will refrain from posting it. However, I have the magazine from 1970 titled 'Here's Linda'. Some pictures in there that will curl your hair!!
