The prices are fair, certainly not a bargain. You have to be careful with 4 door cars, there are subtle differences on many of the parts vs. the 2 door versions. The front clip is the same, but from there back, it can get risky. The dash pad is a tough item to find, and $250 is not too bad for someone that really needs one. The bumper guards are pricey for not being NOS. The front bench is useless since the backs don't tilt forward.. so I'm not sure what a $400 interior gets you??

I have a survivor four-door 1968 Nova V8 and I need a mint black dash, front bench seat, and rear seat.

Does anyone know if these 68 and 69 parts interchange?

Also interested in a posi rear and leaf springs, cheap, for same car.

Chuck - Prices sound high for the PNW. The fact that he wants $2500 for the whole car confirms it. Nova 4-door parts cars regularly show up on craigslist for less than half of what he's asking. Here's a 72 4-door for $650 - priced right where it should be..

and another 4-door driver for $1500...

and even some 2-doors in that price range in the Portland area.

Denis,
Front seat I think is the same! 68 has no head rest and 69 does. The dash pad would be the same. The rear seat is 4-door only. I know that for a fact! Hope this helps!

Doesn't the 68 dash pad have a different "indentation" for the 68 only emblem? I know the 69-70 dash emblem are the same

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

The dash pad and seats are vastly different between the '68 vs. the '69 designs. The '68 model was quite unique.

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

Thedash pad is 68 only, the back seat is the same on a 2 door, and the only difference in the front bench seat is the headrest.

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

Denis,
I was reading my post which didn't even make sense to me. I really didn't answer your questions sorry. You have a 4 door 68, the 69 4 door front and rear seats should be the same maybe just a different pattern on the seat covers. The 69 4 door would have head rest on the front bench seat. As for the 68 nova dash cluster and housing it is one year only 2dr and 4 dr would be the same. The 68 nova dash pad is also one year only. Hope this clears everything up. I have a set of 68 4 dr A-pillars if you need a set. I was at work when I was responding and my head must of been some were else.

I bought some Nova parts from a different Seattle area seller. Complete 70 (I think) subframe, to save for another 69 Camaro project, along with some misc Nova sheetmetal.
May I assume all four control arms are the same as 69 Camaro ???????????

Marlin....Thanks for your knowledge....Any opinion on Powder Coating these control arms in the appropriate shade of black, versus traditional painting ????????

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

I think that p/coating is a personal preference, the colors available these days is endless - so you won't have a problem finding the shade of black that you like. It depends on your goals with the car - if it's correctness, then I think it's best to go with paint, if it's durability, then nothing beats p/coating. The downside of p/coating for correctness is that it looks 'fat' compared to paint.

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

I have just recently acquired an original 69 Nova Bucket seat, red interior from an original 396 Nova and don't have the seat tracks for the buckets. The interior is very nice considering it had been stored for the last 24 yrs. I was just wondering if the the Chevelle repro seat tracts would fit them, since they were all basically the same seats, or if they were floor pan and car specific. Does anyone have a good used set? I dont like the fact that the repros are irridated gold. I just purcheased my forth nova. It's a 69 and I was just wondering what color combinations are more appealing to a buyer?

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

I had considered using the Red bucket seat interior in the "new" 69 and painting it Cortez silver. The Car was originally Glacer Blue with a Dover white top, Light blue cloth interior, and exterior decor and custom molding package. Any suggestions?

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

Isn't it great how some year Camaros will interchange with Nova?

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 10-19-2007 09:34 PM

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

The seats are the same, but the tracks are different. It's possible to redrill the holes in the Chevelle tracks for the Nova floor plan, but it's difficult to get everything to align properly - and still have the seat square to the dash. The Nova seat tracks are very expensive, I've seen them sell for $700+.

I think your 'new' '69 Nova color/interior combo sounds just fine the way it is! It's nice to see two-tone paint on a Nova.

Nova Jed 10-19-2007 09:42 PM

Re: 69 NOVA parts .........pricing opinion ???????

Well, thanks for the info Marlin. I have tried to match up the seat tracks from a bench seat but they were too short and I did consider getting the kit to mount the seats to the floor like the originals. I like the original color combo too, but its a tough decision for me. As the price for the tracks, ugh! Thats almost half of what I paid for the car. In any event, you might see it around town. Thanks!
