Cordova Raceway Park
 

I drove out Friday to Cordova Raceway Park to visit my friend as he prepares his wife to drag race there 1969 Chevelle.

The Chevelle is a real 1969 SS Monaco Orange Chevelle converted in sheeps clothing to look like a 1968 L79 Chevelle.

The car weighs 3200lbs with his wife in it....it is a naturally aspirated 327....powerglide with 5 series spool.
The car runs 10:80`s at 125mph all day long.

That's the impresive part about stock they are legal stock except the cam duration, slicks and wheelie bars. This is her husband John with his B/S nova

Marlin, the intake was on Stephs car it's a Super Stocker they can run any intake and cam everything has to be stock, carb, bore, stroke, compression, piston, rod, crank weight. must be stock. Today's NHRA 'stock' is the Super/Stock back in the day...used to, the only big components you could change were exhaust/tires...in fact, the rules for the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags event that we run in are almost verbatim of the 'stock' rules from the early-mid '60s.
