1969 Z11 Pace Car Barn find!
I have been trying to buy this car for years and until recently it was just a myth. I have bought some rough cars in my time, but this may take the cake! The gentleman I bought this car from took it to a restoration shop almost 20 years ago. Times got tough and the cash flow stopped, so the restoration shop put the stripped shell outside which rusted away. However, the complete original pieces were stored safely in a barn. The rear frame rails are gone. The trunk is gone. The floors are gone. The dash is rusted. The entire body shell has rust everywhere. I am offering this car first on this site. *Original* Protect-o-Plate Engine Trans Diff Heads Intake Alt Intake and Exhaust Manifolds Bellhousing Shifter Radio Air cleaner Etc. I am sure I am leaving several parts out, but I still need a few days to complete the inventory. |

The last two small block pacers I looked at recently didn't have any of their original drive train, no docs and were loaded with repro parts.
You do have a very cool find. Someone will have a cool pacer when its done. |

It sounds like the worst part of the car is the rust. Can we see pics of the rusted areas ?

I will post pics of the rusted areas tomorrow, but expect the worst. It is all gone! However, with what Goodmark and AMD are doing it is easy to drop a car like this off and weld all new panels on. I was recently given a demonstration of what they can do and it is amazing.

The sister car to this is a 69 Z28/RS hugger orange that the guy owned since 1970. Luckily that car is intact but in need of a total restoration. Original drivetrain and POP. This one I am keeping and doing.
Also, I bought a 75 Corvette from him that will be offered cheap here and a 86 Pontiac 2+2 aero coupe. More to come. |

Very fair price for that car..after all whether they have some rust or alot of rust,they still need to be restored the same way.

I was told by the previous owner that that is the original exhaust. With the history I know of the car I would believe it. Thanks |

Thanks for the info. Those tailpipes appear to be 68 style which dump out behind the tires. I have a Pace Car with the same tailpipes and I believe them to be original. I have been looking for another Pace Car with original pipes to confirm. Thanks again for posting the picture. Dennis |

ALL of them had the 69 style CHROME tailpipes based on the rust on this car the exhaust was probably replaced in the EARLY 70's ... |

What i normally find is that whenever someone backs out of a deal,it usually benefits the seller. I see you are already 1000.00 over what you wanted so the deadbeat buyer did you a favor!

Chrome tailpipes had an intro date of May 19; the last Z11s were built 05A. Few if any Z11s had chrome tailpipes.
