Kick off night in Rolling Meadows IL
Well tonight Rolling Meadows finally got rolling at their new location. Pretty good turn out considering how cool the temps were tonight here in the NW burbs of Chi town.
We'll start out with my very good friend Arnold's newest restoration, a 1967 Pontiac 2+2 428 HO 4 speed convert. I've seen alot of cars in my day but this car is one of the most awesome cars I've ever seen. A very rare car and you Pontiac gurus correct me if I'm wrong, there were less than 25 of these produced with the 428 HO motor, 4 speed, and a convertable. that 2+2 is cool, a little older hippie guy I worked with as kid at the 76 station had a real ratty light blue one ..back window duct tape the works, but he drove it everyday and told us whiper snappers he would clean us off the streets with it at will if he wanted...we laughed at him and would egg him on as much as we could but he would never do anything but baby it when he left for the day... one day he left and laid rubber for like 3 blocks grabbing 1,2,3 car stood up like a old prostocker and took off...lots of jaws hanging open after that...anyway very rare and cool car, had to share a story about one.

Wow! Love the big 2+2! What a great combination, runs like an absolute beast, rides like a cloud. What an awesome sleeper. The 428 emblem mounted on the console is also very kool.
If my aging memory is correct the 428 was rated around 370 or 375 hp. Anybody know if this was the true horsepower? A 428 dropped in a first generation Firebird would be a fun ride for sure. |

D..... I can't believe you didn't take a pic of those 2 beautiful blue second gen Camaros that were parked next to each other.....also I did see the barn find 73 Z. Very cool and restorable car!

Internet went down for some reason last night...
Many here love to see survivor cars. Better yet a Z28! The kid who brought this car said that his Father bought it brand new. He drove it for 17K miles and then parked it. Just recently the kid started playing with it to get it running again. He only changed spark plugs and resprayed the trunk lid and half the hood.
