'69 Z-28 Price Help Please
I have a line on a nice driver quality '69 RS Z-28, Cortez Silver, black guts, X77 car, original drivetrain and POP. I've never really followed the '69's that closely, but with '67 prices where they are I need to consider other alternatives for a cruise night car. Can anyone offer some pricing help please? Thanks https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Damn you are fast Marlin! No, I didn't sell the house yet https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif Actually, we just got the final drawings on the weekend and finished off all of the paperwork etc. So, I think I'll have about $50K left in my "car fund" after I sell off a few high dollar parts https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Too bad $50K doesn't buy much anymore! Here's a scan of the front of the house...it sucks being in the city where land is super expensive, but at least we squeezed a 3rd car garage on the lot https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

Re: '69 Z-28 Price Help Please
No worries Marlin...I enjoyed the laugh. Man, 11 years. Thank goodnes that you held onto it! We drove down to Florida a few weeks ago and were passing through Kentucky when we thought about the last time we went down there to buy my Red RS '67 Z. It was in June of '99 and I paid $27,500 for it in nice driver quality with POP and original drivetrain. I'm sure that car would bring $100K now just 8 years later!!! For this summer, I just want a decent car to have a little fun with and take my son to the drags or to cruise nights in. After the house is finished and we know exactly were we stand, I'll consider something a little more pricey...but even then, I doubt I'll have it 11 years later https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Re: '69 Z-28 Price Help Please
Mark,
The house always comes first! I had to sell a 23k mile survivor RS so that we could finish our dream house. You can always get another car, but you'll pay for it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif R |
Re: '69 Z-28 Price Help Please
If it is an X77 it has had the RS added to it...

Re: '69 Z-28 Price Help Please
Sorry, my mistake...it has the chrome gills and wheel openings, so I assumed it was and X77, but I guess the RS option supercedes that. What X code should the trim tag have? I am still waiting on pics of the car. Thanks!

Re: '69 Z-28 Price Help Please
If it is a norwood built car after 12A it would be coded X33. LA and norwood cars built prior look at Stefano's trim matrix he posted above. X77 is a base Z no style trim, therefore the rs option was not available.

Re: '69 Z-28 Price Help Please
Thanks Rich. I'm OK with this move - especially now that there is at least a little money left for a cruiser https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif Hopefully, the timing is good to make the change and I can get back into the rarer stuff at lower prices.
Thanks Bruce...I wish it was a 6 car garage! Prices in the Toronto area are like California. The lot is only 60 x 118 and that is an oversized lot around here! We got one of the last oversized lots in our area. People are buying bungalos for $500K - $750K and leveling them to start from scatch in our city...it's just crazy. Video for sure Bruce https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif Stefano and Steve, thanks for the info. I know nothing about '69 Camaros and will have to count on a number of you for help if I do go that route. I've only owned one '69 Z in my life and that was only for 24 hours https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif I bought the car and brought it home. When the wife came home I took her out to show her. The first words out of her mouth were, "why did you buy a '69...you only like '67's???". So, I called a friend the next day who was into '69's and he came and picked it up https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif I still prefer '67's, but the 9's have grown on me and I do love an RS Z - especially Black or Cortez silver. Thanks again guys...I'll need help with verifying '69 trim tags also, so get ready for the newbie questions https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |
