Wonderful piece of history Chris. Terrific car with a terrific story. SAAAAAWEEEET!
|
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
what a beautiful car.
looks like it had a rear spoiler in the vintage pics. thanks for sharing. |
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
I noticed on the invoice it says, "Try to remove stripes"; pretty cool. Did it come from the factory with a rear spoiler? I noticed in the older pictures it had a rear spoiler but, in the newer pictures it's been removed.

Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
The little black Z has elevated to my top position in the "Garagemahal". When I visit, I just can't take my eyes off of it. All this hype isn't helping my bargaining position with Chris.

what a beautiful car. looks like it had a rear spoiler in the vintage pics. thanks for sharing. [/ QUOTE ] ditto on the excellent ride. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif I also noted in the vintage pictures it has what has recently been refered to here as the "repop" USA-1 plate with the large screw holes.(Removing any doubt about that style being available for over thirty years) Recent pictures show an earlier style plate. Is that a correct repop or NOS ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif |
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
There is just nothing better than old 'in the day' pictures. Awesome car!!!
Regards, Mark |
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Chris, the car looks great! I can't wait to see it again along with the rest of your cars. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Yes, The dealer put the spoiler on the day it was picked up new. I took it off and did the necessary repairs, of course maintaining the utmost in originality. Chris

Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
NOS USA-1 plate on now. Looks like a repop in the older pictures to me too!
|
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
p.s. The factory did deliver the car with the stripes that are still on the car today.

Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Gorgeous car Chris! Having spoken to Fred a number of years ago and hearing the love that he had for this car, there is no doubt in my mind that you were "chosen" to buy the car. Thanks for sharing the pics and story with us https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
AWESOME Camaro! I saw the car at Vette Fest and it is totally awesome! Also love the fact that it is a Chicago car! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
Check out the original owners house! http://www.cookcountyassessor.com/fi...14303000290000 |

Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Thanks Frank. Better house than I grew up in when I was a kid in Chicago. My '68 L78 camaro was from Brigance Chevrolet.Another old friend of mine bought it from a buddy of his in 1969. I acquired it from him last summer.

Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Chris, is your Camaro Blue?
|
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Yes
|
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Chris, if that is the car that I am thinking of it is also totally awesome!! I actually talked to the owner about buying it but he had to include a whole horde of parts that I was not interested in. One of the cool things that he said was that the original owner worked at Nickey but bought his L78 from Mr. Ed from Brigance! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif
|
Re: Chris Piscatello's Survivor 1967 Z28...WOW!
Frank, I own the car, and all the parts and will restore it to concours quality. Ralph and I founded Stencils and Stripes Unlimited together after we met at a car show at McCormick place and I saw his car in the late 70's. Another sentimental piece for me :-)
