Any Die-Cast Muscle Car Collectors?

Anyone here collect die-cast muscle cars? If so what are some good companies and or websites to buy from? I'm interested in a 69 T/A H/T & convertible, 71 Hemi Cuda H/T & Convertible, 69 A12 Bee & RR, 69 Yenko & Copo, 69 Boss 429. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has pictures of their collection please post. TIA

Go to supercar1.com This is Supercar Collectibles. They are my favorite diecast company, by far. Jim Thoren is a good guy.

All of my 69's are ertl.(COPO, Yenko, Motion) But I have a few 67 and 68 Yenko and Nickey that are Lane. The detail on the Lane is a quantum jump higher than the ertl. I haven't looked for a couple of years to see if Lane is doing 69's yet.

I heard that Ertl was going out of business.
Anyone know more about this?

Andy, Here's RC2's release. I expect someone will buy the molds for the diecast and plastic models.

I haven't looked at all the sites yet, but I have yet to see a 67 Z28 RS. Lots of Z's but no RS's.

I have a few Lane Exact Detail, they are by far the best and cost three times the ERTL.
http://www.exactdetail.com/replicas.htm?series=2
ERTL is the only source for the Baldwin Motion diecast I have found.
Lane has a couple of Yenko and Nickey Camaro's

Thanks for the picture Joe. Quick Question - who's the maker of the Cuda Convert and the Shelby Vert in the second picture. Also, what exactly are promos. I've seen the prices they command but don't know anything else about them. Thanks

If I remember the pic correctly it was a "Highway 61" car...check out supercars1.com (?).

Re: Any Die-Cast Muscle Car Collectors?

"Also, what exactly are promos."

Promo's are fully assembled plastic promotional models that each Auto Manufacturer,Ford-Chrysler-Chevrolet-Buick-Pontiac-Oldsmobile-AMC,etc. sold to their dealerships to give away to prospective customers or future customers, like little kids. Each fragile model came in a similar sized cardbord box wrapped in tissue paper denoting name & color of vehicle on end flap.
They were usually produced by Toy store/Hobby shop model kit makers like AMT & Jo-Han to name a few,and were released in a variety of colors and bodystyles exclusive to these dealerships that Toy store/Hobby shops did not have access to.
I think they started promos as early as the 1930's and are still being released all the way up to todays current models.
All colors & styles are sought after and desireable to todays collectors.

I forgot to ask in my last message. What are some good sites/forums where I could learn more about promos? TIA

Re: Any Die-Cast Muscle Car Collectors?

Socal,
The cudas are highway 61 , the convertible is a Backyard conversions through Highyway 61 . They take the coups and convert them . They make about 100 to 150 units per production run on the car Highyway contracts them to .
The shelby is an older ERTL, a limited run of 2,500 . The only place you may find them is Ebay . The same goes with Promos .
As far as Promos go it's all about the condidtion and color that brings the money some can bring over 1300 bucks .There's no web sight that i know of or price guide . Just dealers and they buy and sell from one another driving the prices up like real cars it's nutts .
I just listed some of mine on ebay to help fund my custom cycle project .
if your going to buy from ebay just make sure your buying a promo. Some people list model cars as Promos cause they don't know any better .
remeber there are no dumb questions always ask .

With a name like Novadiecast......I have every Nova made! 68-72 Only!!! The real years. Well over 75 Novas and the wife is yelling at me to stop. But that wouldn't be any fun now would it? I used to do the little hot wheel sized ones too but I gave up on them. Give me the big ones. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
