I really didn,t care about the car its the way he went about it all that really sucked...all he had to do was put a reserve on the thing if he wanted more$$$ https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif then all the lies kicked in and i just kinda blew it off till i saw this listing of the car forsale still!! .He had the balls to submit a mutual item dispute to e-bay saying that we both agreed not to go thru with the sale so they would refund his listing fees....man what balls!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

Scott S. , that's unreal. You win the auction and the guy tells you after the fact that he sold it locally, and then it show's up here. What Crap. Ban the guy

And all that for a lousey few hundred bucks. It seems like a mans word would be worth more to him the the few extra bucks he's trying to get by lying.

Re: 1971 nova 2 door original paint no rust 80,400

You can always stop an e-bay auction

crd 04-07-2007 08:57 PM

Re: 1971 nova 2 door original paint no rust 80,400

not 12 hours before it ends I tried for hours couldn't cancel bids or stop the auction

Jim Ferron 04-07-2007 09:15 PM

Re: 1971 nova 2 door original paint no rust 80,400

Well at worst, you should have offered the car to the high bidded at the auction price before you moved on to sell the car elswhere. There is no reason not to offer the car to him NOW at his price...The reserve , if there was one , was met.

THIS is just one reason I never bid on cars on eBay. The deal is rarely straight up and in the open..

Buyers lie, sellers lie. Pig in a poke.

What about having a minimum number of posts (e.g., 25, 50) before you can place an ad?

Definitely a lack of integrity on the part of this seller. And he gave Scott negative feedback on ebay to boot https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Re: 1971 nova 2 door original paint no rust 80,400

Scott,
You are right. I always Call and Talk to the seller if I am truly interested. I want to see Photos. very specific photos, and most of all, I want to talk at length to the seller. That way I can find out what type of person he or she may be. You can judge a real Car Person by what they know or don't know about the car they have for sale. And just in general by how they talk on the phone. If I can go see it in person, so much the better.
The right thing for the seller to do was Honor the Deal made. But it seems that was lost somewhere along the way.
You are Better off without the car, or the seller.
Just my .02cents worth.

The only way i would even consider the car now budnate is if a 3rd party was willing to mediate the deal..give him the $$ he could look the car over and and make sure its ok, pay for it and hopefully store it till the shipper arrives!! I wouldn't say it is too much. Especially way too much seeing it brought only $1000 less on Ebay.
