M loaded for bear
Seems as though our own Marlin Spotts has lowered himself to the day-2 ranks. His Gobi Beige Deuce was spotted at the PYPES Shop in Hatfield, Pa. getting a new set of prototype exhaust pipes to do battle at the up coming Supercar Shootout at the Reunion. No telling what is in store NEXT for this Yenko Deuce. I believe the Douglassville Dragster has entered the forbidden Day-2 scene with full force. He could not hold out any longer. Whats next......headers (which he has), traction bars, maybe even a scattershield?? Deuce owners from Iowa beware! Man does that car sound strong! Stay tuned!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

Re: M loaded for bear
Nothing too radical, just a Pure Stock racing style exhaust system https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif The original manifolds and smog are still there, including the heat riser, still a crossflow muffler with the tailpipes exiting in the stock location - round with angle cut tips. Sounds pretty cool though, my Benjamin loves it https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

"The Expert"!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif [/ QUOTE ] Far from an expert! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif Just really impressed with the sound. Just loud enough. Motor sounded real strong when the R's came up. I am sure it breathes alot better than the original style pipes. Wait till he puts the Doug Thorley's on! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/drool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif |

Re: M loaded for bear
I'm not sure if they build a system for the corvair, but they would probably give it a try.
As for HP gains, each car is different and the folks at Pypes are wise enough not to make promises - but rather focus on their quality and technology. For example, their systems don't give that annoying resonance like the others, nor do they sound like the tinny shotgun-in-a-can. The system is engineered to fit nice and snug so that it can't be seen from the side (see the last pic in my link) and the tips look factory stock - one of the main selling points for me. When the weather breaks, I will visit my local track to check out the performance gains! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |
Re: M loaded for bear
+++ MARLIN +++ THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION, I'M SURE YU'LL SEE THE DIFFERENCE, AND ALOT OF OTHERS WILL WANT TO CHANGE THERE SET-UP'S AFTER THEY WITNESS YOUR RESULTS... I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU IN ACTION AT THE SCR X.... KASEY https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: M loaded for bear
-------Exhaust looks great, Marlin. Congratulations!!! It sort of looked like you were drifting towards that trailer at the end of the parking lot while doing that CQQL burnout. Did you have to shut off a bit soon???........Bill S

Marlin,
Wow!.....how nice of you to let the installer...make some home made video`s.....Hey, bring that guy along with you to SCR10...looks like he drives it a little better than you do https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Perhaps with him behind the wheel...you may even win the darn thing this year. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif The new system looks great! Marlin, Neat car... man its clean! Do you ever get worried pushing her to the limit while maintaining its restoration/originality? -Dan [/ QUOTE ] Well, I am always conscience about hurting something, and therefore I don't push it to the 'limit'. A little burnout here and there shouldn't hurt anything. Not to mention, when you've restored your own car, having to fix a thing or two once in a while is nothing compared to the 5-6 year resto! I finally found the correct part number and date coded fuel pump after a 6 year search - it leaked https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif So, off it came. Little things like fuel pumps, installing the GM blueprint cam etc... just goes with the ownership! As for the drift during the burnout, I steered to the left to avoid some water up ahead. My deuce does very straight burnouts, and I never go farther than first gear - no need for an embarrassing 'powerslide' like that Z28 at SCR9 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif I'm anxious to get to the track this spring to see how it runs down the 1/4. I guess Dan and I will need to square off at SCRX with one of his concourse COPO Chevelles https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Make sure it's a 4hitter too! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif |
