Re: EBAY SCAM.....
Good luck Wilma...Hammer Time!!!.
This same crook has a string of other cars listed too...some bids are over 55 million!. How can these listings even be alive when the guy is noted as 'Not a registered user'?. Friggin' eBay https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif...they may deserve the BS they're going through for allowing things to continue when they could've made changes, but it's surely not fair to the innocents who get caught up in it all.. ~ Pete https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif |
Re: EBAY SCAM.....
I'm current high bidder a 26 mil. When can I pick it up Tom? Do you take post dated, two party, out of town checks???

Re: EBAY SCAM.....
Only if they are from Nigeria... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: EBAY SCAM.....
It makes me sick that we as enthusiasts put our photos and information on the internet for others to enjoy and some yo-yo gets his kicks by putting them on eBay and purports to own the car.
It takes all kinds to make the world go round... |
Re: EBAY SCAM.....
Karen has already contacted her friends in the Attorney General's Office and has gotten the name of the corporate counsel for Ebay....should be fun!! But, it gets better...seems tthat Dynacorn has a Canadian divsion called Goldenleaf Automotive...guess who's car is on the front cover of their Nova catalog..??? This hobby is getting out of hand...I may switch to collecting stamps...

Re: EBAY SCAM.....
That's exactly the reason I would never use it.
|
Re: EBAY SCAM.....
And I'm sure that they asked for your permission to use your photo for the catalog? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

Re: EBAY SCAM.....
They could have at least blanked out the license plate. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif What moron let that pass through proof reading? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif
Tom, you might want to hold off on that stamp collection. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif However, the Ohio BWC has some old coins that they bought as an investment that they are selling. Seems that the original $5 mil investment wasn't really authorized... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif |
Re: EBAY SCAM.....
You need an attorney,..a copyright attorney, and as soon as possible. Many businesses buy graphics and pictures from companies that sell those products. These companies license and sell the pictures on the basis that they control the rights to these products. Maybe they got a false release from a photographer who had your picture,..you don't know. You need to find out. Because, not just Dynacorn, but possibly dozens of other companies have paid for your car's picture to a company who had no right to sell it. So, get an attorney and have him/her get busy unraveling who's buying and who's selling your picture without your permission. It could mean a few more Yenko's in your collection by the time all the dust settles.

Re: EBAY SCAM.....
The hobby has sucked for some time. And no, it's not sour grapes about the current prices-- It's because there are a lot of people out there trying to make money; essentially playing on the strongest buyer's criteria-- Emotion.
Example: I was visiting my family in Boston a few years back, and we went to Camaro/Firebird day-- A local outdoor car show event. There was a Rallye Green '69 Z that some clown was trying to sell; it looked great as a 10-footer for sure, but when you got close, there was all sorts of stuff wrong with the car, not including the obvious-to-me repairs to the rear 1/4's and floors that were done very poorly. Anyway, I got to talking to the guy thinking it may be possible to get the car for a song, and the one thing I distinctly remember is him saying "If I don't get what I want for it here today, it's going on e-Bay." I just thought to myself how absolutely pissed I would be if I were any significant distance from Boston, paid what this guy wanted for the car, and was delivered a hunk of [censored] that I was now stuck with. It's been said before, but the hobby sucks because it's more investing rather than enthusiast ownership. Who wants to lose money? Uh-- Nobody. So, it makes perfect sense that the hobby has turned into what it is. |

Re: EBAY SCAM.....
BEWARE OF INTERNET AUCTION SCAM
Crooks use fake USPS logo to dupe sellers There’s an ongoing Internet auction scam in town, and its purveyors are using the logo of one of the most trusted organizations in America — the Postal Service! The scam goes like this: The winning bidder of an Internet auction sends the seller a fraudulent authorization letter or e-mail bearing the USPS logo stating the Postal Money Order or other payment they are about to receive is authentic. The seller then receives a counterfeit Postal Money Order — or other fraudulent financial instrument, such as a bad check — as payment. The winning bidder then gets the merchandise without actually paying for it. The letters may use deceptive terms such as Money OrderSM or Signature Confirmation and a sham e-mail address such as [email protected] as reference. By using the USPS brand to create an appearance of authenticity, the letters attempt to dupe consumers and banks into negotiating counterfeit money orders or other fake products. The Postal Service never sends authorization letters to customers. And genuine Postal Money Orders have security features that protect your investment. More information on Postal Money Orders is available at http://www.usps.com/missingmoneyorders/security.htm. Forewarned is forearmed. Let your friends and customers know about this scam. |
Re: EBAY SCAM.....
One too many (.)'s in your link. Here is the correct link.
http://www.usps.com/missingmoneyorders/security.htm Whevever I get a USPS money order I take it to the Post Office and have them scan it with their <font color="blue">black light</font>. Dont want to find out it was a fake after the merchandise has already been sent. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif [ QUOTE ] The Postal Service never sends authorization letters to customers.
