Senator Kerry is a saint
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...orrectness.jpg
On a Saturday afternoon in Washington, D. C., Senator John Kerry's campaign manager visited the Cardinal of the Catholic cathedral. He told the Cardinal that John Kerry would be attending the next day's sermon, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Kerry to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Kerry a saint. The Cardinal replied, "No, I don't really like the man and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Kerry's views." Kerry's manager then said, "Look, I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to your church if you'll just tell the congregation you see Kerry as a saint" The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon." As Kerry's manager promised, Senator Kerry appeared for the Sunday sermon and seated himself prominently at the edge of the main aisle. During the sermon, as promised, the Cardinal pointed out that Senator Kerry was present. Then the Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, "While Senator Kerry's presence is probably an honor to some, he is not my favorite person. Some of his views are contrary to those of the church and he tends to flip-flop on many other views. John Kerry is a petty, self- absorbed hypocrite and a nit-wit. John Kerry is a liar, a cheat, and a thief. John Kerry is the worst example of a Catholic I've ever personally witnessed. He turned on his buddies in Vietnam. He wrote a book and portrayed himself in the best light when he was a traitor to his fellow servicemen. He has lied about his military record and had the gall to put himself in for a medal. He married for money and is using it to lie to the American people. He also has a reputation for shirking his senatorial obligations both here, in Washington, and in Massachusetts. He simply isn't to be trusted." The Cardinal completed his view of Kerry with, "But, when compared to Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator Kerry is a saint." |
Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
I listened to Kerry abuse America on his recent trip overseas. I swear he did not make one coherent sentence. The media lets him get away with the most idiotic ramblings I've heard this side of 'Killer Boy Kennedy'!

Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
The damage that George Bush , et al have created and continue to inflict ( military and civilain casualites, hundreds of billions of our tax dollars spent, loss of respect in the world and ignoring the hurrican damage to our Gulf Coast, etc. ) is a thousand times worse than any thing Kennedy or Kerry have said or done.

Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
Excuse me there fella .....but come on give us a break. Please look at how low the unemployment rate is. Please look at how low the interests rates are. Please look at how many people today own their own homes. Please look at how many terrorist attacks have occurred in the US since 9/11. Please look at the tax relief measures that have been adopted since he's been in office. We no longer have to worry about Saddam and his twisted and evil mind. Also look at the continued and sustained business growth that has occurred. A lot of these issues are at historic levels. How often do you read about things like these?
The issue with the Gulf coast is more state related than federal. It is terrible what has happened but the states involved need to take some responsibility for their own lack of involvement. When the states fail, the federal government is often the convenient scapegoat. Is it perfect? No but it is a hell of a lot better than what is being rehashed in the media and other outlets. Bad news sell. Good news doesn't. The left will tell you how bad things are and blame the right. However the left will never offer solutions on how to fix things they just tell how bad it is and act like chicken little. Sorry for the rant but this type of BS just scrambles my eggs. |

Drop your party affliation and look at the situation objectively.
I voted for Bush in 2000 but he and his administratiion have accomplished nothing positive in our country and the world. He has stirred up a hornets nest in the middle east and overlooked almost everything domestically. In my opinion he is the worst president we have had since Richard Nixon. And by the time he is done he will surely surpass Nixon. Maybe you do not know what is going on with the bugdet deficit but Bush , et al have been pushing through record spending bills to fund the war in Iraq under the desguise of " emergency spending ". If those hundreds of billions of our tax dollars were included , like they should be,the true picture of how deeply in debt Bush has put our country would be obvious. |
Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
I guess I feel compelled to season those eggs a little.
As a self described independent who almost always votes liberal democratic, I must say I'm happy Kerry has formally dropped out of the '08 race. His uncanny ability to put on a dress and dance for the GOP mudslingers is amazing. Ted Kennedy's ability to throw a few back, take off his pants and dance willingly, yet sustain himself politically is equally amazing. But I count the days until George W.'s term is done. The fallout from this administration will adversely affect the lives of me and my children far beyond the taxes I may have saved. Bush is a cordial, well-intentioned despot. But a despot nonetheless. The erosion of civil liberties is shocking. It's like the oft-quoted Vietnam line "We had to burn the village to save the village" except its more like "We had to take away your liberties to keep you free." The climate of fear and intimidation in politics and media from 2002-2006 is the closest thing to 50's McCarthyism I've experienced in my life. Preaching freedom and Democracy while shipping people off to foreign countries to get tortured, and holding people indefinately without formal charges is a sad joke that does nothing to enhance our image or give our policies credibility abroad. And, of course, this administration spends money like no financial conservative I've ever heard. I hope they at least learned that going to war on the cheap ends up costing a lot more in the end. The mistakes made over the last 6 years will take another 20 to iron out. I hope '08 brings us some candidates who have a vision, respect the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the strength to appoint people to positions based upon experience and ability, not for political favors owed. And if they can keep their fly zipped when alone with interns or campaign workers, that would be nice, too. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif Respectfully disagreeing, TOM BRESKE |

Gentlemen, please!
Politics is like the stock market, everybody is right while everybody is wrong. This is why nobody can corner the market, or make this into a one party country. Both parties have had their chance to dominate, and either party can make a strong case for the others failures. No wonder we have never ending problems. This country always unites in times of crises, such as 9/11, and devides in time of crises like the war in Iraq. I am more historically inclined than politically or emotionally. Please read this: http://www.foreignpolicy.com/story/c...c=ealert070129 No politician will ever get elected by talking common sense. Todays politicians are elected by negative campaign adds, and digging up dirt or "Gotcha" stories. What would this presidents two terms have been like if the Demacrats had a Ken Star to waste the taxpayers money on George and Dicks shady business deals before they were elected. Or were they elected? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif This type of politics has got to stop, so that the real problems can be resolved or fixed. IMHO Just my .02 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |

Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
I respectfully agree with Tom Breske but I will go on to say that G.W. Bush has been an unmitigated disaster for all but the very rich. If he had listened to the warnings such as the famous CIA briefing memo titled, "bin Laden determined to strike within the United States," 9/11 might have been averted. Well, it's all hindsight now.
If a Democratic president had presided over the failures and blunders of the past 6 years the Republicans would have set fire to Washington D.C., as they nearly did in going after Bill Clinton. (That'll teach him to lie under oath about his extra-marital affairs.) (Any of you boys ever lie about an extra-marital affiar??? Don't answer, I'm sure it's different because you weren't the president.) If everything was Clinton's fault in the '90s then everything is Bush's fault now. (Being president is rough, better wear a cup.) As for "flip-flops," how many times has Bush flip-flopped on his reasons for invading Iraq--is it seven or eight times he's changed his reasons? I can't even remember what the latest rationale for the war is--what is it, the "Evil Dictator" rationale? As the late Colonel David Hackworth said, and I paraphrase him, "once the orgasmic feeling of invading the country and bombing the hell out of it has passed--then what?" A 50-year occupation, that's what. (The Middle East oilfields are estimated to produce for maybe 50 more years before depletion. Feel free to Google or Wikipedia that and correct me.) I joke with my 6-year old son that someday he will be able to tap the sands of Iraq from his boots. Oh, and the Bush and the Kennedy families share one thing in common: They would go to any length to keep their sons out of trouble with the law. They are American elites first and foremost. (Ted Kennedy should have gone on trial for Mary Joe Kopechne's death, but it's just hindsight now.) Get ready for Iran next. They're the real problem now, especially since Bush blundered into Iraq and provided Iran a method to invade Iraq themselves and influence Middle East politics and power. You think Iran would like to control the Iraqi oil fields? Bush has been a blessing to both bin Laden and to the Iranians. He got rid of the one guy who was keeping a lid on things--against the advice of almost every intelligent American statesman. Save the "we got rid of an evil dictator" crap. Saddam was our buddy in the '80s when we were aiding his war with Iran and he was just as bloodthirsty then as he ever was and we couldn't have cared less. America's incresing appetite for oil was what prompted the invasion of Iraq and the "mushroom cloud" and 9/11 provided the perfect cover story. That, and we had to beat the Russians and Chinese into the Middle East so they wouldn't get to the oil before us. Just as Colin Powell warned: Bush broke Iraq and now he owns it. But, I love burning gas as much as anyone so maybe we should all be quiet now that we're in there with no way out. Oh don't worry, even if we elected Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama (which I doubt*) they would still be just as stuck in Iraq as President Bush is. Iraq is the war that will keep on giving for at least 20 more years. As long as there's oil in the ground we'll be over there, sand in our boots, I guarantee it. *I predict Jeb Bush will be the Republican candidate in 2008. Hey, at least he can string a sentance together. I think a Jeb Bush presidency would be appropriate since that would keep the Iraq war in the family. Maybe Jeb, because of his intense sibling rivalry with his older brother, would run an "Anything but Dubya" administration, much the same way that Dubya ran an "Anything but Clinton" administration. (Richard Clarke? Get him and his anti-terrorist ramblings out of here!) Jeb seems like a smart guy so maybe there's hope. (I served in the Gulf War and still have sand in my old flight boots so save the "support our troops" comments. Every American with a brain in their head supports our troops. You really want to support the troops? Either join up and get your ass over there and help or vote to bring them home alive. Or...just use less gas.) |

SMGCO -
I think you might have been baking in the California sun a little too much. If you do not view the items I listed as being positive for the country and for the world I really don't know what to say to you. Those are major positive items that you are going to completely dismiss and that is just not right. You paint a pretty broad stroke yet do not get into specifics. It's an easy to complain about this and that but when you don't back it up with facts it loses all creditbillity. As Rich pointed out you are completely ignoring Jimmy Carter, but as you stated, it is your opinion so you have the right to state what ever you please. Funny thing though, until we came to Iraq, Saddam would have sent a squad over to your home or business and had you and your family tortured raped and murdered for your comments implying he was the worst leader his country has had since the 70's. Today the people of Irag are free to say anything they want. I can not see how you overlook the positive aspect of that but hey that's your opinion right? Let's take a look at the worldwide HIV/Aids problem. In three short years the number of people worldwide that receive life saving drugs has grown from 50K to over 800,000 through the Emergency Plan for Aids Releif that the US started and solely supports. The Middle East has been a hot bed for a long long time. Always has been and always will. Does that mean we turn a blind eye to it and let it go on or do we try make a difference so the people over there can at least share some of the rights that people over here have and sometimes take for granted as well as keeping the terrorist at bay as much as possible. I understand what is going on with the budget very well. Did President Bush just get in front of the American people and tell them he successfull in his pledge to reduce the budget deficit by 50% by the year 2009 and did it 3 full years ahead of schedule? Did he also state that he would be submitting a plan that would reduce it entirely in 5 years? I was born in Washington DC and grew up in the suburbs ( I have sinced moved to a farm out in the country). I have many friends on both sides of the aisle. I am all to familar with what goes on inside the Beltway with both parties and it's called politics. It's been happening in Washington DC since the days of George Washington. Again these are some of the examples of what you deem the worst President since Nixon has accomplished since he has been in office. Doesn't seem to bad to me at all. |

We have all lost civil liberties under this pres. too! Hell, some people can't even smoke (a legal substance) outdoors and you could seal off a cigar bar like Fort Knox and our tyrants would still say, "It may be your private property, but you can't allow smoking there!" Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
I'm not a Hillary hater, but there's a lot of time for her to lose this nomination. She's shrewd and savvy, but she may be trying too hard, and her dynamics go away when she shares a stage with Bill. (Boy he would be a hard "first hubby" to keep at bay. He'd never get out of the office or quit offering advice-you know he misses that even more than the women). She's not a lock.
I'm more interested in how Obama develops, Romney, Juiliani, the possible second coming of Al Gore (now that he's a movie star), etc. If you get Snoop elected, I'm sure the Presidential motorcade will look a little different, rollin' on 24's and straight up gangsta Secret service sippin on gin and juice. |

We have a lot of successful people on this board. My question is, would you let George W. Bush run your company? The man is an utter disaster. He may mean well but he's incompetent. The economy is in for a big hurt. We are going to have to pay for this war sometime.
Politicians are just like actors. They almost all have some sort of personality disorder. These aren't normal people. Normal people don't want to be in the spotlight. |

Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
The problem with politicians from both parties is that once they are elected they still and won't cross party lines to do what is good for their constituents. If a bill that has good ramifications for the Country is brought before Congress or Senate by one party the opposing party will load it up with so much pork that it will never pass. They have no accountibility for their actions or inaction. As soon as they are elected they are posturing within their party to keep in good favor so that they will be backed for another term.
Politicians when elected need to be put on a probationary period and if they are not doing their jobs they need to be held accountable. Just like we are when performing our jobs. They are all just good debaters that know how to drag an issue out until it becomes a non-issue. You never get a direct answer or you get a response that makes your head spin. |
Re: Senator Kerry is a saint
Interesting........to say the least
Hillary takes it in 08, any bets on what that body count will be? Food for Thought Just a quick refresher course lest we forget what has happened to many "friends"of the Clintons. 1-James McDougal - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation. 2 -Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House. 3- Vince Foster - Former White House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide. 4- Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller commited suicide. 5- C. Victor Raiser II- Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992. 6-Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock, September 1992. Described by Clinton as a "Dear friend and trusted advisor". 7-Ed Willey - Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events. 8-Jerry Parks -Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house. 9-James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "Black Book" of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas. 10-James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to Whitewater. 11-Kathy Ferguson- Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones. 12-Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiancee of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiancee. 13-Gandy Baugh - Attorney for Clinton's friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor. 14-Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds. 15- Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death. 16-Paula Grober - Clinton's speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992. She died in a one car accident. 17-Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation. 18- Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death. 19-Jon Parnell Walker - Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guaranty scandal. 20-Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce. 21-Charles Meissner -Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash. 22-Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advisory council personally treated Clinton's mother, stepfather and brother. 23-Barry Seal -Drug running pilot out of Mena Arkansas, death was no accident. 24-Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole. 25-Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guaranty. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released. 26- Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded. 27-Kevin Ives & Don Henry - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury. Gary Rhodes 44-Steve Willis 45-Robert Williams 46-Conway LeBleu 47-Todd McKeehan Quite an impressive list! Pass this on. Let the public become aware of what happens to friends of the Clinton's! HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT? SURELY YOU JEST !! The news media would have this plastered all over if anyone other than a liberal had a record like this... And for the record I vote Republican, however the erosion of Civil liberties and constant assult on the Constitution has been by both parties... the NEW DEAL is nothing more than a communist doctrine. I would love to do away with the power in Washington, the only way is to cut off their funding... the politicians in Washington need to be afraid of the people in the country... it is the only way to keep them from overstepping the boundries set by the Constitution. |

[/ QUOTE ] I would bet my collection he's right about that! 47 people and a heck of a lot of suicides. Seems a bit out of the ordinary doesn't it. Regarding the comments yesterday about the way politicians flip flop, here's something out from the front page of one the papers in DC that hit the streets this moring For many in the Senate, they were for a surge of troops in Iraq before they were against it. "We don't have enough troops in Iraq," Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, said in 2005. In 2004, he told NBC's Tim Russert some things he believes "very deeply." "Number one, we cannot fail," Mr. Kerry said. "I've said that many times. And if it requires more troops in order to create the stability that eliminates the chaos, that can provide the groundwork for other countries, that's what we have to do." He no longer believes that now. He is among at least a dozen Democratic senators who in the past have called for more troops in Iraq but now support a resolution condemning President Bush's plan to do just that. Reminds me of a windshield wiper........ |

Whenever I get into a Republican-Democrat conversation and it starts to get out of Control with the Bush bashing and Clinton is "God" stuff...........I just ask for an explaination for "only" one thing.........The Marc Rich Pardon...........and the conversation comes to a "Screeching " halt at that point.........I never have a chance to get to The Rose Law Firm records found in the White House hallway..........."It is what it is"
