Awesome! That car doesn't have blue standard interior by chance?

Re: 69 Z progress

Now that is a REAL nice car! I love the correct coil bracket and harmonic balancer. They are tough items to find. Real nice! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: 69 Z progress

Joe, yes it does. The interior is mint and all original in fact. Lucky for me because you can spot repo seat covers a mile away.

Cool...The reason I'm asking is I'm thinking it might be my dad's old 69 Z...we sold it a couple years ago... at that time it had black stripes, no console, and a center mounted fuel gauge, and nice original blue standard seats and door panels. I always wondered what ever happened to it, and if i'd ever see it again... could it be the same car?

Tommy_Mathison 11-05-2006 05:26 AM

Re: 69 Z progress

Joe, unfortunately it's not the same car. My dad bought this Z in 1986 and has owned it ever since. Since the car has no paperwork (It is X33 coded and it does has all of it's original drive train, however), I would love to uncover some owner history. Gotta love the blue on blue cars though!

Re: 69 Z progress

Oh well, was worth a shot...Funny because my dad bought his in 1986 too! You usually see the Lemans Blue cars with black guts, and the blue standard looks way better IMO...at least if its got original interior. Car looks great btw!

Car looks terrific Tommy. Hard to beat a Blue 69Z. Was this the car we did the decals for?

Very nice detail. Thanks for showing us your update. Is that Lemans or dusk blue? Pictures on my screen don't quite look Lemans.

Looks great Tommy! Is this the one that Tom S. painted? If so, he continues to amaze me with his quality of work. Love your level of detail you guys are doing with the chassis as well. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

I love constructive criticism, so don't be afraid! I'd like to correct and wouldn't mind discussing anything that you guys think is questionable. I'd also like to get a few more pics online, does anyone know of a good image hosting site?? Thanks everyone!

Constructive criticism? OK, here goes.....that certainly must be a fake 69 Z28 because it is missing the cross-ram and 4 wheel disc brakes.

Oh wait, nevermind, I've been watching too much auction coverage again https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

Seriously, it looks outstanding https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Love the blue interior https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif
