Dan, it's an old drag car that sat in the P.O.'s garage since 1980. Supposed to be a L72 car but aren't they all. I will shoot a few pics when I get a chance.

Hey Tony..Do you need a 427 for that ride?

Hey Tony, it's got a 454 in it now that runs decent. I'm going to decide what to do with it first. What you got going on this weekend? Drop me a line.

Sounds like a fun car...where was it built? .
Considering where you are, it wasn't uncommon for Oshawa build Biscaynes to end up there...just thinking of the Canadian document possibilities?? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif .

Pete, not sure yet if I'm going to keep this one around long-term but it was a cool car that I knew I would regret passing up. Going to look for a build sheet this weekend. Jeezus, I do have to say that this car looks absolutely huge compared to the 1st gen Camaros in the garage...what a boat.

Re: 1969 Biscayne LH Quarter Glass

Tony,

- Being in the commercial door business I buy fire-rated wired glass almost daily so when my Speedy glass guy was on the phone this morning I had him type in your 1/4 window application. . His system showed '69 2 Dr. Sdn. RH 1/4 glass still listed at about $60 but unsure of availability...he's checking on the LH situation, I'll follow up if it's a yes. .
Not that it would matter in your situation but I wonder what brand and date codes would be on something like this? .

Pete, let me know if that glass is available-that would be awesome. Date codes are not important, which would go without saying if you saw the sorry shape of this car!

Re: 1969 Biscayne LH Quarter Glass

Tony,

- My glass guy called me back today w/ this reply. .
There's supposed to be 4 - LH Quarter glass for your application in stock and available from "Pilkington Glass" in the States. . Sounds like they're the supplier to the Glass joints but am unsure?

I Googled the Pilkington thing and came up with this...there's a couple phone numbers there. .

http://www.pilkington.com/the+americ...cs/default.htm

If this is wrong, sorry...I'm only going by what he's been able to come up with and that's his U.S. associates relaying the info back to Canada then to me. .

Good luck and where's some pics of this sweetheart!

Pete, thanks a bunch. I did figure out that the car has tinted glass (duh) so I'm hoping that's also available. Will let you know if Pilkington helped me out. Still working on pics, promise https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Tony...for the life of me I can't remember hi name but there is a guy in Union Grove area of Wisconsin that can probably help. He advertises in Hemmings and on E Bay and is a 67 nut....2dr sedan may be the same glass for 69...someone here must know who i'm talking about

Re: 1969 Biscayne LH Quarter Glass

Pete's Pilkington connection had the glass and I should be getting it next week-thanks Pete!

Bob, I know who you're talking about and will give him a call for the 'other' stuff the car needs.

The good news is that I was able to find the body broadcast sheet among an absurd amount of critter poop, and it's an original M22 car.

Anyone have a nice chrome 4-speed shift bezel and boot they want to get rid of?

The broadcast sheet clearly shows an M-22, Biscayne body series number, tinted glass and auxilary speaker and based on what I was able to find out only 77 big cars came with the M-22 in '69. I think it would be a safe bet to be a 427 car and likely an L-72. Pretty rare to say the least but the jury is still out.

Rick has been a huge help (as usual) figuring out what this car is. Still hoping for some original docs from the P.O.

Re: 1969 Biscayne LH Quarter Glass

Based on the coil spring code information you just sent me, this is exactly how an L-72 Biscayne/Bel Air should be equipped. I think that and the trans codes on the broadcast sheet says you owe yourself a couple of more beers! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
