Friday Perch in Chicago
 

Question for you Chicago boys since I forgot to ask at the Reunion...I will be down in Chicago this weekend for the IMTS - arriving Friday and leaving Sunday and I was wondering if there is a good "hole in the wall" joint that serves perch...I will be staying at the Holiday Inn, Mart Plaza on 350 New Orleans and would prefer a place relatively close by.

Fred,

I just returned from IMTS myself. I don't know about perch,
but I had a hell of a nice steak & bottle of red wine while
I was there.

Good show this year.

Nick's Fish Market is the down town place for sea food.

Or you can go to Greek town for Smelt.

Got a funny addendum to this topic.

Some years ago, we were traveling along the lake ( Chicago )
and there was a Hooters party boat docked and it was partially
sunk. Our drive claimed the boat sunk because it was

Fred...just curious...why perch ??? I get it at a little local Greek place in Northbrook....not exactly a hot item at the big fish restaurants.

Back in the early 90's Don's Dock was on Dundee in Buffalo Grove. When I was working out that way I went there often. Probably the best place I have been to. They then moved to the current Des Plaines location. Unfortunately it is too far of a drive for me now.. On Rt 14...

I went down to IMTS with my uncle and his Friday night meal of preference is perch...ended up having perch at Shaw's Crab House - very good food there...MMMM...thanks to all for the suggestions...too much vino this weekend though...woohoo
