1970 Z28 Camaro W/ Strong Documentation.
The time has come for me to put my 1970 Van Nuys built 17 17 Z 28 up for sale. I want to offer it here first before dealing with EBAY because many of you have been so helpful during my “restoration phase” (you know who you are).
After being built during the first week April of 1970 in Van Nuys, this car was delivered to Courtesy Chevrolet Center in San Diego, California. This is a dry and rust free car. This car has RIDICULOUS documentation. To begin with there is the original owner temporary plate, original owner registration through 1985, original owner insurance card, original owners manual with plastic envelope and Protect-O-Plate. There are three partial built sheets from the gas tank, the driver’s seat and under the carpet. There are also various sales receipts from original owner for shocks, battery, tires, alignment, muffler, etc. ranging from 1974 to 1986. The engine was rebuilt in March of 2004 according to receipts from Mesa Machine Supply in Escondido, California. Engine was built to stock specifications with the only change being 10 to 1 pistons. After purchasing the car in July of 2004, I have rebuilt the front end, the brake system, power steering, heater core and radiator. I have replaced the carburetor (with a service 4555), shocks and muffler and refinished the wheels. It has new Goodyear Re-Pops. The interior has new carpet, seat covers, head liner and dash. The windshield was also replaced. Although there is no readable VIN on the engine block, there is a production code which is VO327CTB. The block stamping is clearly visible which is shown in attached pictures. Pictures of any particular part of the engine that may be required can be obtained by request. The original M-21 transmission is long gone and has been replaced with a T-10 transmission (probably from Sears). Rear end is the original 373. Distributor is 1111150 7 F6 which is not correct for this car. The car was repainted years ago and is by no means a show car, but it would be considered a true “10 footer” with tremendous potential. A front spoiler was installed for looks even though it is not “correct” for this car. Selling price: $50,000 Purchase of this car includes the original dash, bezel, carpet, am radio and blue license plates. However, the license plate frame is not included. If you are interested in the car PM me or call me with any questions. Thank you to Yenko website for posting this ad. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/03520dc8.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/3204ded8.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/204a5c17.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/10633a53.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/ab7f7666.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/c8c45f69.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/19988586.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/0c446b22.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...tn_cowltag.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/c300420a.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/58faf588.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/075e3248.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/d0b06cd1.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/7da8ffe8.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/689506ad.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/da5445f4.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/DSCN1912.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/2993dcee.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/b4d0bdb5.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/5ff81b1a.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/da5445f4.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/899f8746.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/201ee1f8.jpg |

Re: 1970 Z28 Camaro W/ Strong Documentation.
I found a 1112019 Distributor dated 0 A 21 (needs rebuild)and it will be included with sale. Ebay was a joke, people bidding without calling to ask any questions and after the auction ended those who bid on the car were given second chance offers by some scammer scum. Everybody have a safe weekend.

Re: 1970 Z28 Camaro W/ Strong Documentation.
"after the auction ended those who bid on the car were given second chance offers by some scammer scum"
I have listed numerous cars on ebay and then have been critized on this site because I use private auctions. Now you know why! A scammer can't contact anyone in a private auction. Nice car by the way! |
Re: 1970 Z28 Camaro W/ Strong Documentation.
Anytime you receive a personal email from ebay, like a second chance offer for instance, confirm it by clicking on your MY EBAY button, then click on MESSAGES.
If it's really a second chance offer,it will appear in your Ebay messages. If it's a scam,it will not. |

Incredible documentation ! [/ QUOTE ] Thanks Steve. There is a lot of documentation on this car and I know what I've got here, It's a really nice '70 Z28. It's just hard to believe people would bid $37K on ebay or just email me and offer $35-$39K without even calling and talking to me about the car let alone comming over and touching it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/10633a53.jpg |

Re: 1970 Z28 Camaro W/ Strong Documentation.
Very nice LA Built Z-28. I wonder why the engine build date on the P-O-P is V0323CTB and block pad shows V0327CTB? Do you think someone stamping the P-O-P mis-read the engine stamp and incorrectly stamped the P-O-P? Any history on the car from the previous owners as to why the trans was replaced? The car may have been a drag racer and the trans destroyed by speed shifting like so many of that era were.

Paul [/ QUOTE ] Paul, that's what we hypothesize on the date discrepancy,no different that switched build sheets. If you go the Oliver Stone route what are the odds of finding a block that tight? This is my buddy's car,and I have checked out every piece of paperwork and it reads like a book-the car was driven by the original owner till the mid eighties then parked in a garage in So cal till I believe 2002,I doubt very seriously if the car was raced judging by the reciepts from Midas for replacement OEM muffler,shocks,etc.. the paper trail is very convincing that is was unmodified it's entire life. |
