Jeff any pics??? if I recall right they looked kinda like a muncie but shifted like a Lenco on the side and some had like V-gate type linkage, A very serious crash box.

This one was made to fit, the front tip of the input shaft had to have the dia milled and the blow shield was re-drilled to fit behind a Chevy. some car with ribbons all over it https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Good trannies, along the lines of a Jerico...I believe most of them are setup for "clutchless" shifts...

great transmissions !!! i have 2. i will post some pics of them later tonight or tomorrow am. im trying to talk SHOR into putting one back in that YENKO CHEVELLE !!!!! but it has a separate shifter for reverse and its an in line shift. meaning no H pattern !!!! they are mostly for racing , street driving is not fun. there are no syncros !!!

here are some pics of stock gears and liberty gears and a picture of a v-gate shifter. the liberty gears are the 2nd and 4th gears in the first picture. you can get them for any trans, you can also take off the side cover to see if this is what you have. would like to see some pics of the modified part of the trans.

Good stuff, Jeff...I'm jonesing for a Jerico 5-speed for our Y-Vega project, but I'll probably have to cheap out and go with a TKO...

Re: Joe Liberty Crash Box

I believe the Pro Stock boys and some of the Comp racers use the liberty. A clutchless 4 or 5 speed. The rods are straight on the top. Jericos are more like an original type trans as how they fit in the car and how the linkage is set up where as the Liberty looks like it is on its side with the linkage rods on top. Leave the line with the clutch and that is it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

took a ride in a 69 chevelle with a hurst vertigate, dont know what type of trans it had in it. guy built the car in mid 70's original 396 car with over the counter ls7 had the trans built and added the vertigate with a dana 60 456 gears out back. he told me he raced it on the strip for about 2 years and put it away, he had it tucked away until 1993, washed it up and came out one night and destroyed most of the street scene in town. a twin turbo stroker 5.0 took him out, it wasnt a local car, just in town for a dyno tune. i got to know the guy a little and got a ride in that sweet chevelle, clutchless shifting @ 7200 rpm in a ls7 is one ride i wont forget. i went to look him up a couple of years ago and he had moved out of town.
