COPO Camaros

Hi, just curious if anyone on here knows anything about these 2 Camaro ads from hemmings. The COPO in PA. has 325 miles on it? I'm dying to know how much they want for it.

Does this ZL-1 really have the original engine? Anyone know anything about this car?
Thanks

If the COPO is the Blue car pictured below she wanted 375K for it a year ago when I tried to buy it.

I spoke with the guy from the legal service last month, he said that he had a bid of $315K but was looking for $345. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif
I wished him good luck. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

If it's really what it is being advertised as it is worth at least that much.

Re: COPO Camaros

If those pics above are the 9561 that is for sale, it is one sweet looking car. I am drooling over the fact that it only has 325 miles on it.. and all the docs. But 345K? If these are selling for this much are the ZL-1's selling for a million?
God I wish I were rich...

What do they mean special order color? Was it a color not available for a COPO car? Looks to be Dusk Blue?

I wonder if the wife passed away too ? It was claimed that the guy only started the car and drove it around the block every so often. I would probably have ot agree that at this time the car is probably worth that. I found out about it just before BJ in AZ in 2005 so it is actually over a year ago that it was first for sale for 375k . I remember the car showed up in either Dupont or Rob Report shortly after BJ and I never heard about it again. But the market may have dome to that car.... all original 325 mile COPO...if someone paid 205k + commis for the 69 Z @ BJ then I would have to say this car is worth the money and then some.. I know part of the Z's attraction was that it was never titled but still... 325 miles? Put the window sticker back on it it's new!

The blue is a Pontiac color, according to the seller.
The car was raced and restored, something like 12bolt's old car. Hence the low miles.
When I mentioned 12bolt's car and what it sold for, that is when I was told how much they wanted, which is why I wished him good luck, and why I still wish him good luck. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

If it was a survivor with 325 miles I could see it being worth the asking price. Having been raced and restored, it shouldn't be worth much more than any other COPO Camaro.

Was fortunate to see this car in person aprox. 4yrs ago and it is basically priceless on its special order Pontiac Blue and only 300 Original Miles. The day it was brought home from Pinebelt Chevrolet all components were removed including full drivetrain and spiral shocks etc. and then raced at English town etc. for the 300 miles then parked. Restoration was done aprox. 5yrs ago or so and was told it was amazing as all original parts were all rapped and in perfect condition as when the spirals went on they were so perfect they were Windex and installed. Unfortunately he passed away before completion and was unable to see the car done. Car has full Documentation even a copy of the check when special ordered and all papers on color request. He ran the service department at Pinebelt. Def. 1 of the rarest and most documented COPO cars in existence.

Yikes I had a feeling this car was a winner. Love reading the stories behind it. Thanks to all for providing information on this true piece of history. Now if I just had a cool half a mil. to spend care-free. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
