I like the vintage traction bars w/ the provision for the sway bar mount. I've never seen a set quite like that.

Re: 1970 Z28

Yeah, kinda cool huh? I do have the original factory shock plates to convert it back to stock... they were still with the car (in the trunk) when I bought it.

Thanks for looking,

Tony

Is the car Van Nuys (L) built? That looks like a BL on the trim tag?

This should help explain 1970 Camaro trim tags.
Thanks for looking.

Re: 1970 Z28

Tony,
Do you know if the brake master cylinder is original? Reason I ask is because you normally see them with bleeders but I have the same non-bleeder 409 master cylinder on my 70 Z and it is dated correctly for my build date.

Thanks
Rick H.

Re: 1970 Z28

Rick,

That is interesting (non-bleeder 409). I don't believe the one this car is original equipment. I have 2 other 1970 Z28's and they both have the 409 casting with bleeders.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for looking,
Tony

Re: 1970 Z28

Tony,

I was surprised to see that master cylinder on your car and mine is the same style. Your's and mine are not the only ones I have seen either. Weird.

If you could, could you get the codes off the bottom. You don't have to, just asking.

If mine is not original then I can't explain how it's correctly dated.

I have a ton of pictures I took of a standard 1970 Camaro I used to own and it was all original, i'll have to look at the master cylinder on that car.

Hmm, interesting.

Here is a shot of the 5800 mile DH Camaro with it's original 409 bleeder master. This started life as an SS350 whether that makes any difference.

Re: 1970 Z28

Those vintage traction bars are called Ansen Ground Grabbers and that far rear bolt is removed for street use but put it back in when it's time for some serious action. I thought all 70-74 Z-28's said "Z28" on the cowl tag. Was this a Norwood plant practice only?

Re: 1970 Z28

Yes, Norwood only.
