Sounds like a great color combo.Black with red guts would be stunning. I do not think i have seen that on an ls6 before. Rick Nelson of the ls6registry would be the one to contact if looking for an ls6. Look at the supercar/musclecar discussion page and click on ls6registry and contact him if you like. Chad

Didn't Mark Simpson own one a while back, the guy in Chicago who had a collection of cars in the mid-90's?

I agree on the Blk. and red int. combo. One of our LS-6 chevelles is Blk with red int. There was a another COOL combo that I never saw until Carlisle 2yrs. ago Blk. non-coul with saddle interior.

Any one remember the Cellossi / Ettelsen Chevrolet, Elmhurst Illinois delivered, Black/Red stripe/Red interior LS-6 / L-89 M-22 convertible Bill Clements from Chevy Craft in Lubbock Texas Had? I remember seeing an article in an old Cars magazine that showed the Build Sheet. The only documented LS-6 / L-89 car I have ever seen, and a very cool color combo.

That's the same Chevy Craft that has been supplying fake build sheets and tank stickers for 100 years? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

I do not know of that car myself. Was not really into production figures and color combos until 98 or so.

As Mark suggested, you have to wonder about the authenticity of a car owned by a guy who, for a long time, ran a business that helped people build fake cars by restamping motors and creating fake documentation.

Re: 1970 Chevelle LS6 4sp prefer black w/ white strip

First I would like to say, I have NOTHING to gain by starting a story about a bogus car. I owned the first car the Bloomington Gold Benchmark award was founded on, a 1953 Corvette (Vin. # 100)the Straight Axle Corvette Club of America is currently doing an article on, a 1969 L-89 coupe the NCRS used for there Judging manuals, and numerous Camaros and Chevelles(Even a 1969 Hemi Roadrunner in 1974!). Any body who knows me, can tell you I am a Purist in the sence I appreciate a car for it's originality, it's rarity, or for it's historic value (If it IS a real car).

About 2 years ago I tried tracking this car down and I talked to a salesman at the selling dealership. He rememberd the car. I believe the engine code was CRW or CRY? First time I ever saw that code. I will post the article when I find it. I have a hard time believing someone had the vision to bogus up a build sheet way back in the late 1970's. I found out this car sold to a Ford Mustang collector out of Oklahoma At a Barrett / Jackson auction back in the mid 1980's, and is currently owned by one of our members living currently in California. A lot of cars were built not as they seemed back then. Look at all the spc (special paint car) cars now showing up.

I have found over the years of having this desease (which we are not looking for a cure!)we all have collecting and restoring muscle cars, you just have to have an open mind. If this car is real, It is rarer than a ZL-1!

Chevy Craft was doing goofy stuff with 409's in the 80's too...

I believe the Chevelle you are referring to was an LS-6 Convertible, and was sold here from Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet in Roselle,Il.,down to a customer waiting at Bronco Chevrolet in Odessa,Tx.

Does the wording remind anyone else of a Nigerian scam? I want to be the first to apologize if it's not a scam. Triple black with red interior?
