It's in the restoration shop? For what? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif I wonder what they are asking for it.

No price yet. He is "restoring" the undercarriage and freshening it up. If he ain't gonna price it he might have been better off keeping of his site. He's gonna get a lot of calls. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Current ad is a hacked up version of the detailed ebay ad. This new ad makes no mention of the drivetrain and whether or not it is original. That could cause a problem for someone.

Why would Frank care ? If its gone it's gone...the guy can take a hammer to it if he wants.

Maybe the resto shop is going to give it the same treatment they gave this 67 pace car.

http://www.classiccarsinc.com/curren...%20pacecar.htm

Why would you do that to a real pace car?

For all those that are shocked, confused, all of this https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif and that https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif. This includes paint huffers and whack jobs on other sites. Here is the bottom line. The car was sold to a dealer. So what. He can do what ever he wants with the car. It stopped being my problem as soon as the car was driven away on a trailer. Is that a good enough answer for everyone?

Oh and Rainer. What makes this whole thing a "Saga"? Since I don't know you I don't feel that I owe you any explanation for anything.

Some loser that still lives with mommy and daddy at 40+ years old, DOES NOT, HAS NOT, OR WILL NOT EVER own ANY sort of muscle car let alone a Supercar. Someone who's "locating" days are over since they have no one to sell to anymore cause they are OBSOLETE. Someone who is OBSESSED with conspiracy theories because they are always going to be JEALOUS!

As most will notice the Mr. Nice Guy bit is over for me.

Oh and Rainer. What makes this whole thing a "Saga"? Since I don't know you I don't feel that I owe you any explanation for anything.

[/ QUOTE ]

Frank - I didn't expect to rub anyone the wrong way with my choice of words, much less you. A saga is a story or account - nothing more. There have been lots of people interested in this "story" and hearing where this car ends up. That's a major reason why we're on the board - to hear car stories. I admit I took a personal interest in the sale of your car, more from a human interest perspective than anything else. I appreciated reading you post how difficult the decision to sell had been, and how you felt a "3 out of 10" after the sale. I understood that the car was going to be tucked away, never to return to SCR again. The fact that a dealer has it struck me by surprise. You're right - you don't owe me or anyone an explanation. It appears that I've upset you somehow by being interested in your perspective. For that I apologize. I wish you happiness as you move forward.

Re: Talk about Flipping.........How's this

Good response, Rainer. I've heard stories about that particular dealer having a collector/client/friend that's some sorta VIP with WalMart and is very private about his stash of cars. When I saw that's who bought Frank's car...I presumed the Deuce was headed to the confines of the WalMart guy's collection [and probably presold]. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif If my hunch is right...I wonder if we'll soon see a "sold" sign on the dealer's web page?

Speaking of dealers and such...does anyone know of, or had dealings with this outfit? Looks like a neat, clean and roomy operation. click here

Re: Talk about Flipping.........How's this

Jen Jacs is in my town. From what I understand the Owner has always been into chevy's and had a very successful cabinet company he sold to finance this restoration company. I have seen the Owner at a few car shows with different Camaros on display. One hugger orange, convertible bbc with air and bunch of options caught my attention. I would agree that it looks like they do quality work.

Rainer. I am sorry for being short but I am just sick of this whole subject thats all. I have been taking heat for this for two weeks and frankly, I am not gonna take it anymore.

No need to apologize. I was the one that was out of line. Peace. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Oh and as for the buyers. Charlie & Charles are class acts in my opinion. Who ever ends up buying this car eventually from these guys will get first class treatment. I hope they break the bank with it.

Frank, You are 100% correct!. Im sure it was hard enough to part with the car and now to get slammed for selling it to a dealer is rediculous. Everybody knew it was for sale and they could have bought it. Seems too many people have weird personal attachments to other peoples cars...

Re: Talk about Flipping.........How's this

Hello everyone, My name is Charles Lumpkin and I own C&S Classic Cars. Some of the members here know who I am. I have been around and restored cars my whole life, and enjoy them very much. I purchased this car from Frank, because I wanted one. I want to enjoy it for a few months. Get it back in the condition, that I want, and show here and there. I have a contract with Deals on wheels, and they pulled it from my site automatically. It is not for sale right now, but it will be when I get it ready. I am not a big dealer, I have a restoration shop, and a showroom that holds about ten cars. I like rare high quality cars, just like you guys. Someone made a comment about the 67 Pacecar, it was restored modified back in the 80's, buy the second owner, when these cars wasn't worth so much. I have just made it more modern. I mean no offense buy this, but Frank and I had a good business deal, and some of you guys need to find something better to do, than talk about someone you never have meet. Everyone should just have fun with the car hobby!!!! Thanks, Charles.

Welcome to the site Charles.

Met him a couple months ago (Gold Z in LR). Know a few that know him, and have never heard a bad thing said about him. I didnt notice it at first, but I was disappointed when I realized he was the guy being discussed/accused.

Charles Lumpkin is indeed a fine Gentleman and a very reputable business man!

Welcome Aboard! Charles

Charles, give me a call when you get a chance.

Steve Sandlin....The restoration shop you inquired about is owned by another fine Gentleman who does high quality work. I would be glad to speak with you about my experiences with them. If you are considering a source for restoration I suggest you call Jen Jacs and ask for "Joey"

Charles does excellent work as well and I would be happy to recommend him!

Hey Charles, i for one like the 67 you built. When you had it on e-bay i was watching it closely as it was similar to a project i had in mind. I think it is very well done and looks great. Keep up the good work!!

PS, oh and welcome to the site!!
