Cragar SS uni-lug

Thinking about some Cragars for the front. I have read good and bad about the uni-lugs. Anyone run them? Any thoughts or comments appreciated. Some guys say they have a hard time getting them to balance.

Nope Cragars are made here. At least the last versions I bought (2004)Never had a problem with unilug. They seek there own level. Make sure the lug does not bottom out on the stud. I think unilug wheels have been around since 70's.

Perhaps it's like the other chrome stuff....made in China then the chroming done in Mexico? . Hard to compete w/ cheap China labour and the Mexican toxic disposal system....a pipe going anywhere as long as it's pointing West?? ~ Pete

We have them on our SS396 Chevelle for the day 2 look. I always use a torque wrench and double check periodically. Never a problem. Back in the early '70s, I had one come loose. Didn't use a torque wrench and didn't check. Lived and learned. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

that was common on them back in the day the lugs would bottom out on the stud before pulling the rim down tight, then it could walk on the studs giving the thump at 60/65...my very first set did that and the guys at Posi Traction set me straight.

I had unilugs on an 87 IROC. The car was a theft recovery and the unilugs were on the car when we got it. I did not notice any unusual vibrations, but had 2 sets of front bearings wear out. Eventually we put the correct factory wheels on the car and never had bearing problems after doing that. I'll never use unilugs again.

I have unilug keystones in the camaro . . . they're outta balance, but it's cause the damn rim got bent . . . my brother ran the frickin thing into a curb . . .

Never had any other vibrations from any of the others i have. Maybe i'm just lucky
