Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
Amazing to see what musclecar treasures Wisconsin holds. First semi trailers full of rare Chevy cars and parts, and now this. Now I see why I never saw these kinds of cars on the road in Milwaukee when I was growing up - they were being hoarded up and left to die. Too bad the road salt exacts such a heavy toll. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
What a royal shame. The cars available for purchase?
|
Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
Is that a 69 trans am rag!!!!????, if the guy only knew what that was worth, he would have a heart attack!.............hmmm maybe someone should tell him?
|
Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
Those cars are well known around here and have been outside for decades.
The owner did a 'clone' T/A rag and drives it around. |

What a royal shame. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe somewhere in that group is a Royal-Pontiac shame?? I wonder if these cars would've lasted better if they put the tarp on the ground instead of over the roof....ground and unpainted surfaces are a bad combo? ~ Pete |
Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
Wow, what a waste. That is a real shame. Can we have a moment of silence! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
Don't ask to pull a heater box on any of these, or auctioner might pull something on you!!!

Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
That unbelievable. I'm not a big Pontiac fan but that a real shame. I know a guy with lots of vehicles and he says that famous line to. " I'm going to restore these one day" Yeah right be realistic, don't let them rust to death.

It would be worth it just to find out if this is the 8th ragtop 69' that is yet to be found. Someone with some bucks or even GM would want to know and I bet that they could coherce the guy who owns this TA graveyard to sell it!! |
Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
The cars are for sale.....at least that is what the man told me he hoped would happen who owns the land. Seems the T/A "collection" owner hasn't paid his rent for eons (imagine that), and the landlord is trying to convince him to sell a couple to pay up.
This is the story a gentleman gave me at Russo. I was next to a 69 T/A RAV (I know, I didn't think so either) and a man asked me who owned it. I told him I didn't know and he proceeded to tell me he was looking for someone to buy "some" '69 T/As. I tried to appear only casually interested (it was tough). He then recited the story above. Has to be these cars......unless he meant the lot down the road...... Dave |
Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
^^very interesting. I'm trying to locate exactly where this place is at in Wisconsin. My dad is a truck driver and he wanted to know also!!!

Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
the cars are not for sale yet.the owner is in the process of takeing the proper legal steps before they can be sold.the trans am convert in the pic is not real.well its a real convert but thats about it.this car was cloned in the mid to late 70 i think.before cloning was the in thing.i will also not give out the location until the owner is ready to sell.it just would not be right.there are a few people on this site in the milwaukee area that iam sure know of these cars.i think somebody would have to be out of their mind to restore these cars.like i said before about the only thing holding them together is the driveshafts.

Re: how NOT to store your trans am collection
Thanks for the update.
It looked like a few at least could be restorable though. Some did look (and sound from what you are saying) unrestorable, I definitely agree! But still, more power to anyone who wants to tackle a project like one of the "unrestorable" ones. |
phone number
Does anyone know how i can contact the owner of these cars....address, phone number?? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Did you not read the post right above my last one by jrn101 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif ??I mean I know it was 2 whole posts above yours https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif. Sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but people have to learn to actually read the threads before they post in them!! When they are for sale the location will be disclosed. And here is the post for you: [ QUOTE ] the cars are not for sale yet.the owner is in the process of takeing the proper legal steps before they can be sold.the trans am convert in the pic is not real.well its a real convert but thats about it.this car was cloned in the mid to late 70 i think.before cloning was the in thing.i will also not give out the location until the owner is ready to sell.it just would not be right.there are a few people on this site in the milwaukee area that iam sure know of these cars.i think somebody would have to be out of their mind to restore these cars.like i said before about the only thing holding them together is the driveshafts.
