Using this site without membership??$$

In the spirit of the Christmas giving season:

I've noticed there are a number of folks who post here on Yenko.net fairly regularly that are not members. You already know that there is a great deal of valuable info and helpful people ready to answer questions or give an opinion.

I know it is not a requirement that you be a member of the sYc to induldge, but there really is no excuse:

Donate or become a member and support this site and club!!

PAYPAL DONATION:
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/mypa...ntpal.php?Cat=

MEMBERSHIP FORM:
https://www.yenko.net/clubinfo.htm

And Thank You to Tom and Rob and all the moderators that give so much time! Merry CHRISTmas!

Dave

This isn't the biggest site, (yet) but I believe it is the BEST. Is there a way you can become a member using paypal? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Just remember that some of these people share their valuable knowledge with us for free. Knowledge that you otherwise would have to pay for, one way or the other. These people are also probably members on many sites.
So donīt chase them away, but let us who want to, donate.

I wouldn't call anyone that participates and doesn't abuse an offender nor do I think contributions of knowledge from non-members aren't appreciated or helpful. Just a nice reminder of how to keep this site going from an interested, introverted third party that participates on message boards regularly only at this (great) site. Now, about my commission.....

I was a member till it ran out a few weeks ago. It will be renewed soon. As stated earlier, some of us belong to other sites and also other clubs. For example, I pay out for ACES, AACA, Yenko, and Team Chevelle, not to mention all the local clubs, and out of town shows, hotel rooms, gas, tolls, food. I've given plenty of advise on TC to none members. I know some are young and can't afford to join multiple sites. Some guys just have to cut back for financial reasons. If they contribute to the site with advise and knowledge, that might be worth more than some realize.

Re: Using this site without membership??$$

I think maybe the stars are becoming not a good thing ? If the stars become a indicator of who can't afford to donate then I think we need to do something different. We appreciate the donations but this is not supposed to be a pressure thing where people feel guilty if they don't have stars under their name. If you ever look at the top of the page and click on "Who's online" you will see that there are usually more non registered people than there are registered. Some of them choose to remain non registered but do donate thru paypal of the mail in support of the site. Any thoughts on how to lessen the pressure of not having stars ? Are some staying non registered and remaining silent because they can't afford to donate ? I really think we need to address that. You don't need to own a supercar to be a participating member here and you shouldn't have to be pressured donation wise to be a member either and I'm thinking the stars might be doing just that.

Charley are you kidding? What is this world coming to??? "you shouldn't have to be pressured donation wise to be a member either and I'm thinking the stars might be doing just that" Is the world full of that many sissy's? Just like the kids who participate in sports now of days where "every ones a winner." Total bull$hit.

This site has been a cash register to many people or a brake for some like me with getting the opportunity to own a supercar and learn. I paid for my damn stars not because I care if I have stars next to my name but because I wanted to support the place where my extended family can get together and BS about cars.

I agree that non members shouldn't be pressured but to change the rules so a few sensitive artist's don't get offended is absolutely ludicrous. Next thing you know you won't be able to say Merry Christmas in fear that you might offend somebody........

Re: Using this site without membership??$$

As far as I remember the starting price of membership is not much more than a magazine subscription. I know I am glued more to the site than a magazine....

The stars just indicated member status and not the amount you paid be it the minimum or maximum for admission. Am I wrong? I don't really see an issue with them...

Re: Using this site without membership??$$

Well said Charley and good point. The only time I even pay attention to who is a member or not is when someone either runs their mouth off with a negative opinion or they just sold a part for bookoo bucks. That is not right. If you are going to make a profit here, why not contribute to the place that gave you that opportunity. I also agree with the pressure issue as sometimes people may feel like they cannot make a comment or offer help because they are not paid up. There have been many people here that have actually paid for someone elses subscription to sYc because for what ever reason, they could not do it. That is called "Team". https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Using this site without membership??$$

I actually like the way this site is set up. On some other sites they have areas for paying members only...It kind of seperates the group so to speak...

This site has so many people with so much knowledge that I thought it was worth supporting...Hey I found my car here!

Like Darren said, to join at the minimum level...you would pay the same amount of $$$ as a magazine subscription...and I enjoy this site WAY more than a magazine.

I like that both paid members and non paid members of this site can enjoy all the facets of this site.

We should look into doing a yearly car calendar of members cars that could be sold for the month of December...it would make a great Christmas present... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Hi Bruce, yes Tressa is my daughter she has made calenders of past reunions for people on the site. She can custom make any calendars from cars, family, sports etc. I think a members calendar would be pretty cool if anybody is interested give Tressa a call at 630 540 0250. Thanks Darren Tressa and I thank you for thinking of her.

Look at me! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif I got the stars now. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif I would just like to say I have enjoyed chatting on this site very much. I believe Darren's comparison of a magazine subscription is entirely true to me. On my first post, this past spring, I asked to join some members on a cruise and it was fantastic. Everything about that day was beyond words. From the generosity of the host to the camaraderie of the group, it was an exceptionaly nice day. Besides that, bumping into members here or there around the circut has been very cool. Thank you for everything guys. Tom
