Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
As some of you know, I have been chasing a 4,000 mile 1969 Hemi Super Bee that a buddy of mine owned for some time.
Well, it cost me a big bag of cabbage, my 69 Judge 4 speed with factory a/c, and a plane ticket to New York - but it is now safe and sound in my garage. If I were as smart as Bruce, I could post pictures here. But since I am not, here is a link to the full story and pictures on my website: http://www.colinsclassicauto.com/detail.php?car=175 Thought you guys might like an update and to finally see the car! Now if it would just stop snowing I could go drive it...oh well, nothing 5 months won't fix! Colin |
Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Can I have it...

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Nice Car Colin. I have some old Friends in Seattle, Rick and Ron they are brothers, who bought a 69 Hemi Super Bee Coupe. The car was Red with a Black Top,Black Bench seat and Factory 4 Speed. They bought it from the Original Owner who I think was an Older Lady. They got the Car in the late 70s or early 80s. I think it only had like 12,000 Miles and Looked Brand New. I liked it because it was a Coupe, the rear windows popped open sideways, instead of Rolling Down like normal. I also had a 69 Superbee Coupe 440+6 Pack, Black with White Top. Black Bench Seat,Column Shift TFlite and a 4:10 Dana and a Fiberglass 6-Pak Hood with No Hinges. Neat old Car.

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Slick ride Colin. Perseverance pays off in a big way. Love the story. Enjoy your new ride. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif I motored the EV2 E74 RR to the gas station this afternoon and put another 3.2 miles on her. Maybe a Broncos fan will make a play for the two of them. LOL!!!!!

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Guys - thanks for all the kind words.
Stuart, you can have it, I'll trade you straight across for that white car you have with the silly stripes, short serial number, and hillbilly exhaust sticking out the sides. A guy your age needs a nice quiet car with white walls! LOL Mike, you hit on my favorite muscle cars of all time, the A12 Mopars. I have 3 of them, 2 RR's and 1 Bee. Most pure street racer ever from the factory, at least in my opinion! Bruce, stop https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/drool.gifing . LOL Fred, I am ready to race any time. I've got 1320 marked off right around the corner. No offense, but I am not going to race you on those original tires. How about I just pick another car out, like my 500 CID "440" 6 Pack Runner?? That would be a good match to your ride. Sam - glad to hear you are keeping the miles low on the Orange Hemi! Your car and this one would be a great pair for somebody who wants lo-mile Hemis! I think if we add our mileage together we would still be under factory warranty? LOL Thanks again- and thanks for all the emails also. Colin |
Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Colin...If you sell me that car dirt cheap and help me with a Barrett-Jackson purchase I would be proud to try and shoehorn it in the Futureliner and go for a cruise...

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Now THAT'S an action shot! I can feel the bearings starving for oil just looking at it! LOL
Needless to say, the Hemi Bee won't be pulling a wheel stand any time soon. Esp. not on those skinny little white walls with the nubs still on them https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif I agree that https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...arleySucks.gif Colin |
Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Wow....what a picture! . It reminds me of the first night my pal and I got the Hemi running an old '69 'Runner. . We had NO brakes....who needed 'em, we wanted to go, not stop! . Anyway, Colin.....nice move on your new friend....great story, great car! . And Charlie, if you're serious about the Futurliner you'd better start spelling it right....from what I recall, GM copyrighted the name without the 'e' in future. ~ Pete

Yet another incredible find. Congrats, Colin https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif and congrats to both your friend and the original owner for doing such a fine job of preservation https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
You could do a burnout in there, since chains won't fit on those tires, LOL.

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Colin,
I could send you my tutorial...but you need to be able to accept PM's... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Nice car to add to your already fantastic and voluminous private collection. Is anything actually for sale over there at Colin's Classic Auto collection???? Just wondering?

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
He just sells crappy cars to guppies like me then accumulates the good stuff for himself, LOL.
Awesome collection of some rare cool cars. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |

clear a 1320 and we could race [/ QUOTE ] Proto...Colin has about 400 feet with a stop sign in the middle....but it really doesn't stop him...ever see a lift off hood car stop in 20 feet ? You're right...they don't...but he still does it !!! |
Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Charley,
Do I detect just a hint of jealousy in regard to Colin's HEMI Bee???? LOL Don't worry you still have your galaxie wagon to play with this Christmas. Anyone care to take the over/under on how long it will be before Colin gets an offer that he can't refuse and this car goes from his private collection to someone else's private collection? Perhaps Charley's? |
Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
He did tell me this morning he had a herd of inquiries already, it won't last long......

Re: Finally got it- 4k mile Hemi Super Bee!
Sorry it took me so long to reply Les, Charley and Stuart. I was busy helping the new owner of the Super Bee load it into his trailer. Whew! That was a quick sale. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif
Just kidding. But you guys are funny. Yes, Les, I do have cars for sale. Not a lot, but hey, I am a lousy "dealer", I got hooked on the product. How about the near twin to the Super Bee, my 26k mile 440 4 speed Ramcharger hood, Track Pack 69 Coronet R/T with 26k miles??? Galen says it is as close to new as you can get - original paint, etc. Charley is just pissed because we had to take a break from kissing HIS ass to talk about my car a little. He has a complex https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...arleySucks.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif So, what was the over/under again? If the pot is high enough, maybe I'll jump in! LOL Colin |
