Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
One of those 4-door HEMI cars, a -67 Plymouth, was a gift from Plymouth to a dealer in Finland. He was very successful competing in rally in Finland, and by that promoted sales of Plymouth cars.

Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
Saw it at Mecum.....love it or hate it....it was very cool
|
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
What did it sell for?
Or maybe I should ask, what did it get bid to? |
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I don't know and don't care. I would rather have Colins 4 door 427 cop car.......
|
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
Bid to 600 or 650k on Sunday. Don't think there was any live money on it...owner wants 750k net?????
I agree with Charley, I'd rather have my cop car also. Much cooler and more rare. Plus, it cost around the buyer's premium on the 4 door Hemi had it sold! LOL |
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
What COPO car? I'll be in Chicago in two weeks and may drive it back to Austin.
|
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I would rather have Charley's 63 Galaxie station wagon over Colin's 4 door cop car. That wagon is like a time capsule and the coolest SUV on the road right now. Whoever drives that cop car is forever destined to resemble Barney Fife from Mayberry. IMHO

Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I'm starting to feel like Fred McMurray..
|
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I heard about the wagon, let's see some shots.

Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
Les you should have got that cop car before Colin did .....
|
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I really wanted the 63 wagon, but missed it. I offered Fred McMurray 5K for his ticket but was rebuffed. Sadly I am old enough to know and remember watching original run "My three sons" shows.
Colin (Barney) REALLY wanted the cop car and bought me off with dinner. LOL |
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I see Charley as more Eddie Albert sitting atop his tractor in the opening credits of Green Acres...but I digress. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I really wanted the wagon as well...but being the nice guy that I am I stayed off of it for Charley. I have never seen a guy so damn happy to drive around looking like a nerd in my life! Just keep those damn mutts out of it so when you sell it to me it is still mint, Charley!!!
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...arleySucks.gif Lester is just a "hater" because he doesn't have dorkey overpriced 63 Fords like us - LOL LOL LOL |
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
Just keep your fingers out of my door......
|
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
Colin...I told you to stop bidding on that cop car......I said...."You are paying too much, stop!!".........
|
Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
I must have misunderstood - sounded like you were saying "don't loose it!".
Just got an interesting call from a friend that used to own the cop car, unbeknownst to me. Has full history on it and is looking for considerable paperwork that the guy he sold it to kept. Has all docs from new and a really cool history. He told me how to work the gauges, too...both speedos are certified and there is a switch to throw the feed to one and then the other to double certify the bad guy's speed in high speed pursuits! I just drove it and it is one hell of a cool car. Very, very fast and solid on the freeway, even on old bias ply tires. Car really comes alive over 75 mph. I can now see how they caught guys in the days of slow radios. LOL Better get that wagon tuned Charley, I think I've got it covered right now. The bald guy from Pinks will be calling you soon. Re: 4-door Hemi at Mecum
He is a sexy little man, isn't he? I've been sleeping in my GTO because it smells like Chicago dogs and cheap aftershave ever since SCR8 - reminds me of Gags.
