Rand Workman Auction: check out the cars now...

http://www.randworkman.com/featured_...s&make=All

What's the count now? two ZL1s, a green Yenko, a white Copo, the green 68 Z28 ragtop, an L89 ragtop, $15,000,000 in hemis...and my measly pace car (for what the high rollers will be paying for the big dollar cars, mine will go for about what they'd leave as a tip at a nice NYC restaurant) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Re: Rand Workman Auction: check out the cars now...

Can't wait to see the results of the bidding. Some serious iron going across the block. We expect a full report.

I'll be happy to shoot some photos. Someone has to teach me how to link the photos to get them to show up in the body of the message instead of as an attachment. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

I wouldn't call your 69 pace car measly Steve. It is a very impressive, unique, and rare car in it's own right. I am not saying this because 69's are my thing either. Good luck! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Rand Workman Auction: check out the cars now..

Thanks for the compliment! I am curious to see if the bidders like it. I'm just selling her to get some funding to finish my T/A and to get a new roof on the house. At least the garage roof doesn't leak! We'll see what happens when the remnants of Katrina get here later in the week.

Re: Rand Workman Auction: check out the cars now..

BTW does anyone know anything about the green Yenko listed? It doesn't seem to go out and say directly that it's a Yenko Camaro. The text just seems to tip-toe around the subject saying "a genuine artifact from the Yenko era." Does anyone else find this very strange??????????

Steve I plan on going to the auction. I'd like to see the reaction to your car and the L-89. (Who knows maybe I can network and line up some new cars to do https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif) I can take some pics also, and post them. What time does this shin-dig start? Rich.

Well if mine sells, my T/A is your next in line. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Rich, the website has a home link that you can access the schedule with. I am waiting for my entry package and maybe I'll have an extra ticket for you. I'll know in the next couple days.

Re: Rand Workman Auction: check out the cars now..

Would the "Yenko ZL-1" be the rarest of all Yenkos? Should it should not really be called a "ZL-1" due to the fact it is not one of the 69 ZL-1 Camaros. Do they have documentation to authenticate the installation of the ZL-1 at Yenko?

Steve, thanks for the ticket. (I'll buy you a sausage+pepper sandwich when I see you there https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif) Let me know what day your car is going across the block. I think the L-89 is going on Saturday. Thanks again, Rich.

It should be going Sat around 3:00 pm from what they told me. I have to drop it off on Wednesday for the Aloha Automotive display area.

Steve:
I'll be there at the auction also, hanging out at the Aloha tent some of the time. Tommy is taking one of my cars, a 1970 Cuda 6pack convert. Hopefully we can meet, would be nice to put faces with persons from this site.

Pretty sure this car was on Ebay a couple of months ago. Yenko did not do the conversion. In the late 70's a guy bought the engine from the Yenko parts department (over the counter) and reportedly installed it in this Camaro. If I remember correctly, it has a six cyl VIN. I have no idea when the yenko stripe kit was put on.

I don't want to get too nit picky, but find the following excerpt from the green Yenko listing to be somewhat amusing, as they have obviously confused the ZL1 history with the Yenko history.

"Chevrolet reportedly ordered 50 Yenko Camaros for sale to the general public through select dealerships, and that number is rumored to have climbed to 69 before the year was over. Either way this is one rare muscle car that is sure to be a great investment while offering the pleasure of extreme performance."

I would expect more from an auction like this.

I looked at your car on the web. It is magnificent. Awesome. Wow. I'll be by the display to take a closer look, too.

You will do very well.

My COPO is supposed to go across the Block between 8-9 pm Saturday night. I believe a Yenko Car(I assume the Red Car) is a few ahead of me, than after me (Not in this specific order) an Original GT40, another Yenko(The Real One) and the Z-28 Drop top etc. It should be an exciting Day to say the least. as long as My exhaust system makes it back from Mississippi........in time!

Re: Rand Workman Auction: check out the cars now..

I just got back from dropping off the Z11. There are a few million dollars worth of musclecars there already. Almost had the Hindenberg Part Duex occur. Some idiot let their supermodel girlfriend drive their Saleen sports car to the acution. She drove it all the way from where-ever, with the emergency brake on. She waited until she pulled into the building, about 100 feet from the 71 hemicuda ragtop and 68 Z28 convertible before someone could stop her: both rear calipers were fully engulfed in flames. They used half a dozen baking soda fire extinguishers to put it out. Someone must have dragged her out of the car because we saw some guy backing it out and Ms. Supermodel trying to walk backwards in 7-inch heals toward the exit. You'da thought she was blonde or something: she actually walked backwards the entire way out. I guess when they yelled at her to back it the hell out, she took them seriously. You can just imagine how happy everyone was having to remove that baking powder (read that as powdered sandpaper) from the surface of their cars after these guys just spent the past 2 weeks detailing. You just cant make this stuff up. I took some photos so lets see if I can get them to link up. Here's the aftermath with a new Ferrari covered in fire extinguisher dust:

Here is the Aloha display with my Z11, next to a 440 Sixpack Challenger ragtop and an LS6 ragtop behind it. Please excuse the wierd halos in the photos: it's the fire extinguisher dust that is stuck to the lens.

I just got Back from dropping the COPO off up there. First Time ever for me at an event of this magnitude. I was duly impressed and I believe the Cars I saw in person as well as the Vendors that were setting up mean serious business! Barrett-Jackson might just set up on the East Coast next year after the results from this Shin Dig are in. I have to go Back tomorrow. Here is a link to some pics I took up there today. Not a whole lot but I will get way more tomorrow now that I know the Layout. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...der_id=1449864
