Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.
We're considering doing some wheel/tire upgrade on the '69 Z28. Tires aside for now, I am having a tough time picking between the final 2 choices.
A) 15x8 rear and 15x4 A.R. TT wheels B) 15x8 rear Cragar S/S and 15X4 (or 5) Centerlines cehck out the picture below. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...nescragars.jpg I think that looks awesome. Give me some feedback please! Thanks guys! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |

I think the TT's are being done to death lately. You can't go wrong with the classic Crager SS look IMO

Ditto

Re: Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.
I have a set of mint 14x7 and 15x8.5 Ansens, direct bolt pattern chevy, not unilug. Rears look like NOS NO curb damage whatsoever-fronts need sanded and polished but no curb damage. Includes 4 original metal Ansen caps and two of those are NOS if you are interested
I also have a set of NOS never mounted on a car 15x4 Cragars SS unilug with new 6.00 BF goodrich bias ply front runners with '70's style tread look. Tires were mounted and balanced but have never seen the street. |
Re: Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.
There is nothing like Cragars @ night with the lights bouncing off them or durning the day with the sun reflecting off the chrome. I had Cragar SS wheels on my '70 "Green" Nova and it looked awesome. I also think the Mini Lite wheels look great on '69's too. Good Luck.

Give me some feedback please! [/ QUOTE ] Check out this Camaro. Sits right-raised up in front, white headers poking out underneath etc. You know I have a pretty humble opinion when it comes to Day 2 mods https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif SO::: Don't consider the TT, and unless you have a race car don't mix- match wheels for the street(it doesn't even look good on a race car) in my most humble opinion. BTW: Who all like the look of the green camaro?? |
Re: Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.
Green sucks. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif
j/k... very cool Day 2 ride. The white headers are a must IMO. |

Okay, I'll edit this to add: I was just kidding! |
Re: Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.

Re: Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.
That is a great combo! (Darren)??!! White headers is what I seem to remember most in the old days. People don't realize how many of us ran header mufflers when they came out. I used to go to Chevy and buy the chambered exhaust mufflers and weld collectors on them and use them as header mufflers. We bought the GM mufflers for $16.00 each. I'll never forget that. Nice camaro Dave. Sits nice and love those header mufflers.

A nice set of Ansen slots would make any color look nice...even multi-green! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

You also need one of these on the back end. Just restored this one with new ET decal.

Re: Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.
It was in Car Craft circa 1980 or early 81. I was a freshman at Ohio State and loved that car. Set up just like a friends burnished brown 69Z. Same ride height, Cragars etc.

Re: Wheel combination for a 1969 Z28.
i would definately go with choice "B" centerlines on the front and cragar s/s on the rear.i'm still trying to find a good 15x10 wheel for the back of my 72 camaro.i'm running 15x4 us-indy mags up front and maybe 15x10 cragar s/s or satin finish 15x10 centerlines for the rear if they still offer satin finished wheels. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif
