Family loss for Chuck and LeRae Hanson

Chuck and LeRae Hanson (President of the American Chevelle Enthusiasts Society-ACES, and is the host of Horsepower TV) lost their only child, Cameron age 23. He leaves behind a wife and a 2-year old son.

Chuck and LeRae have been great assets and friends of the hobby. For those of you who know Chuck and LeRae, it is now time for us to give them all we can in return starting with our prayers. Please share in my sympathies and condolences to them and their families.

Chuck and LeRae were in the middle of a cross-country Chevelle-only cruise and have had to make arrangements to get home to deal with their loss. I do not know the nature of Cameron's death at this time.

Cameron will be missed.
Rick

Chuck and LaRae put on a whale of a Picnic in Goodletsville every year. We've been treated very well everytime we attend, and Chuck has always been very friendly and accomodating.

Terrible news. Our heartfelt condolences to both of them.

As a parent, my worst fear is to loose a son or daughter.
I'm really saddened to hear this news, I can not imagine the pain the parents are going through when you loose a young love one and can only offer my heart felt condolences.

Chuck,
If you read this, less than 2 years ago I went through what you are going through now. We lost our only child, my son Shawn, age 27.
If you want to talk to someone who might understand, send me a PM.

Sorry,

I don't think you have to be a genius to pick-up on what a nice guy and a credit to all car lovers Chuck Hanson is. What a terrible tragedy. I don't pray much but I'll include him and his loved ones with the prayers for my dad.

Chuck Hanson is a great guy, I never met him but we talked on the phone. I feel his loss, as we lost our oldest son two years ago last May..

May God give the Hanson Family Strength and and show them his Mercy in their time of great need.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Hanson family on there tragic loss. It has taken a while for me to make this reply. If Chuck monitors this site, I can only say the unbearable pain somehow becomes less unbearable over time. We still have pain daily but manage to continue our lives after losing our 30 year old son and wonderful friend 19 months ago. Some days are better than others. You have joined a fraternity that has a surprising number of members and should not exist. No one should be expected to bury one of their children. One thing about posting to a computer, the tears don't stain the paper. Jim & LaDonna https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: Family loss for Chuck and LeRae Hanson

I hear ya Ken...there's nothing like having an extremely ill child...or one who passes away. It definitely makes you put everything in perspective...and the material things in life aren't important anymore. You learn to treasure every day...and all the little triumphs.

In case you didn't know, my daughter is an organ recipient (She received a new heart in 1990, at the age of 5 1/2 months...she's 15 years old now https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif).

I PM'ed Chuck and let him know that his son left a wonderful legacy...that he helped at least 7 people in the process. I signed my donor card when I was 17 years old because I thought it was the right thing to do...

Now's the time to discuss with your families whether or not you'd like to donate your organs when you die...I respect everyone's opinions and their decisions...it's just better to talk about it now...rather than when a tragic event happens...

I know of one other member of this site who's child had a heart transplant. We are both grateful to the donor families... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif
